Looks like it's a $35 monthly credit applies to the monthly cost of the phone, and tax would be applied on $50.
So the true cost, at least in BC, would be ($50 x 1.12 - $35) x 24 = $504, less $300 gc, which brings net cost to $204.
Still not a bad price.

How much is the cost of the phone itself? $204 with the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G AND 24 months of service sounds a little too good to be true.

Koodo deal is better. $250 gift card but a $10/month for 10 month credit. Also, the Telus network is better than Rogers.

Also, I don't know if this is typical but when I signed up for the koodo deal for the s20 FE I got $10/month for 10 months, plus a $45 credit which I'm assuming covers the activation fee, AND a $100 bill credit. Don't know if those two credits were a mistake though. But even without those freebies the koodo deal is still a little bit better because od the $10/month for 10 months credit.

It depends if you need a new phone or not, and whether you can get the plan you want. I'm paying $35 for 9GB with Fido and I'm happy with my phone, but I can always use an upgrade. However, if it means I need to move to a $45 plan then it's not worth it for me.

moved my father in law over to virgin from Koodo last night at RCSS. here are the details:

phone: Galaxy S20 FE 128GB Blue
Plan: $50/mo. with 10GB (he was paying $60/mo. with Koodo, plan only) they have lowe priced plan but wanted to keep 10GB so that father in law doesnt say " why you lower my data?"
phone cost: $0 upfront
monthly device cost: $15
$10 bill credit for 12months (instead of 10 from koodo/fido)
300,000 PC points ($300 in cash value)
$45 activation fee waived
i know its virgin (bell's sub-brand) but i had no issue with them in the past

* plan includes all those basics so didnt include in the above *

good deal?

How did you get 9GBs for $35? I have an old wind mobile legacy account I’m looking to switch for better coverage.

Winback offer of $45, less $10 monthly credit. Plan was only 2GB, but Fido gave me 2GB and 5GB bonus.

I'm at 9gb for $30 but these credits normally last for a year

I have 2 lines with fido and both have the same plan with $40/10gb. Can I get this deal "Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G - 300$ Walmart gift card" on both of my lines, and maintain the current plans?

By the way, when I check "Upgrade my device" on my fido account, the same model shows up with $15/m for 24 months, and $9.99 for refurbish ones.

Fido's device balance on the phone is $1300 on contract so I'd get this if you actually need it and plan on staying for 2 years.

I'm in the same boat. With Fido for $35/1GB plan with 2+5GB bonuses, so $35/8GB. I was offered $40/10GB and now I only see $45/15GB offer.
I am looking for an iPhone SE 256GB for my wife and would perhaps take $40/10GB plan. I can get SE 128GB for $10/mo, but as you said have to take a plan for $5/mo extra, which is $120 more over 24 months to get that phone "deal" and then they have your $5/mo extra forever. So, the $240 phone becomes $360 phone and the plan cost will never go back down below $40 going forward.
We also have a Koodo line with $40/6GB, so I'm also tempted to go to Fido and have two lines there at 2x $40/10GB and get a deal on iPhone SE and S20FE. Not sure if I can get a better deal for two family lines elsewhere ($80/mo combined for 10GB each line).
