[Fido] *Targeted Offers* Fido $55/30 GB, $65/35 GB, $70/40 GB, $95/50 GB, YMMV

Seen these when logging into my Fido account just now. I currently have the $45/25 GB Plan. I’m in Ontario and I’ve been back with Fido for about 3 months. I put YMMV and targeted offer since I’m not sure if this will apply to everyone, but the plans are as follows:

$55 - Unlimited Calls/Text, 30 GB Data
$65 - 35 GB
$70 - 40 GB
$95 - 50 GB

Not a bad deal for those if you get the offer. I personally won’t be going for it since I only use about half my 25 GB and I don’t want to pay $10 more for something I won’t use. I know they’ve offered the free data top ups however I think those are more YMMV than these plans (subjective opinion), so this isn’t a half bad alternative.

*Also not sure if these can be used to finance a device. Someone will have to chime in about that.

I got the same offer on my $45/25GB. Not worth it since I’m always at home now lol. I wonder if Fido will ever launch 5G and have more expensive 5G plans, or if they’ll keep it exclusive to Rogers?

Why doesn't Koodo ever have anything like this (except for those on the PM migration plans)? Congrats to the people who can actually get on these deals.

Didn’t see anything like this on my account so I contacted FIDO.

They offered me $50/17GB and are taking $14.80 off the price of my iPhone 11Pro max each month which has 18 months of financing left).

Not too bad.

Takes into effect my next billing cycle.

FIDO doesn't have 5G. How can you guys use so many GB data? I have WIFI at home and company. I only need 2GB data each month.Face With Stuck-out Tongue And Tightly-closed Eyes

5G doesn't use more bandwidth than 4G. A 30 minute, 1 GB video is still 1GB whether it's downloaded over 4G in 5-10 minutes or over 5G in a few seconds. You don't spend any more data consuming the video on 5G than you would on 4G. Just because the video loads faster onto your phone doesn't mean it takes more storage. People need to get this misconception out of their heads.

I take the bus to work and back and I browse social media (IG videos, Tiktoks, etc) and occasionally youtube videos on my way to work and back. I always go over my 10 GB unlimited plan and hit 11-14gb depending on the month.

I use at most 5-6 G per month. Anything more than that only make me feel better when I look at my plan, e.g. $40 per month with 100G definitely make me happy. However, it is of no practical meaning as I can hardly use that given WiFi stays on most of the time.

And future proof? That’s a joke as well, Fido has no 5G yet, even then it is out initially you are not sure if your plan will be compatible, yes eventually 5G will be enabled regardless of your plan, but 6G will be not far away then , and you run into the same game.

Plus plan with discount will most likely have the discount expired in 1year or 2, then you will need to hunt for a decent plan anyways.

So only pay for what you needs.
I spent way too much time finding good deals! Now I will focus on getting my Ph.D. :)

$45/25GB here, no offer. These plans look great. I wouldn't bother with Winback if I was offered $55 for 30GB.

Where do you see if you have these offers?

this can be combined with the free 15 gb last month. I'm at $45 for 45 GB, forever LOL

I only use max 15 GB pre covid, but this was no cost upgrade and excellent for roaming travel use in the future. Because of this i'll likely keep this line forever

I have a retentions plan $50/25GB and also received the offer $55/30GB on this line only. No need for extra 5GB and I literally just changed plans from $40/5GB and got a new Pixel 4a 5G. It's weird they targeted this line when my other lines have less than 10GB.

I'm currently on a 5 gig and $45 a month plan with a s10. I was offered a 15 gig plan for $55 a month. Interesting you guys are getting great offers. I wfh so I barely even use 1 gig. A lower bill would be nice.

I would look into Public Mobile / Lucky or Chatr. 3G network speeds and you can get 1-2 GB for $25/m. Once things clear up you can always jump to a diff carrier.
