[Fido] Fido / Virgin - $25 unlim cw talk/text + 1000 international minutes

Fido & Virgin have new plans available in store. (Won't show up on the website)

Only good for those customers that want the free international calling add-on to the countries listed below.
1000 minute international calling add-on is typically a $20/month for customers or 0.05 to 0.10 cents/minute to call out an 'international saver'

There is a Lucky Mobile version of this plan that has 500MB or 1GB data, but no international minutes so choose whether 1000 long distance minutes or data are better for you.

$25/MONTH (BRING YOUR OWN PHONE) or $35/MONTH for 2 year contract on TAB SMALL/SILVER
  • Unlimited canada-wide talk
  • Unlimited international texts
  • Caller ID
  • Voicemail
  • 1000 international minutes to Australia, Bangladesh, China, Macau, Hong Kong, Italy, India, Germany, Mexico, Taiwan and the UK. (Virgin does not include Macau)

Koodo also has the same plans but no international minutes.

  • Data block is included for free on Fido. Koodo charges $2 and Virgin charges $2.50
  • Koodo has a $25 referral credit.
  • Virgin also has 10% off for additional lines bringing the plan to $22.50/month (this is always on and off, they may or may not have it at the time you read this post)

Prevents accidental data usage; this plan includes no data so without data block it would get very expensive very quickly if your phone unexpectedly started using data.

AB for sure, the rest of the provinces I'm not certain about.
Since it's one of those unadvertised plans, it's hard to say which provinces have it since you can't just check the site.
AB/BC usually have the same deals, though.

It can be activated anywhere that sells Fido. (WOW, BB, WM or Just regular Fido store)

Same idea in ON
They are billing it in mall as a "seniors plan" (because block data?)
Koodo $40 Canada Wide + 13GB + 1000 Intl LD
Public $120 Province Wide + 12GB - $6 Autopay - $12 Loyalty - $45 Refer = $19 per Month
Freedom $35 ($37-BTS) North America Wide + 8GB + 1GB Roaming

You're missing the point of this deal: It's for people who also need the 1000 international minutes. Also can get 3 GB of data for an additional $15 or less if using dual Sim phone.

How many Canadian model phones have dual SIM?

I have an iPhone XS Max which supports eSIM (virtual SIM) but many carries do not support it (yet).

I received a text today from Fido to switch. I am just going to ignore it... For some, it might be perfect to get this and the 3gb tablet plan though on an iphone XR with esim as a dual sim setup. Fido just recently started supporting dual sim setup on the Iphone XR/XS/XS Max. But, I am keeping my Chat R $15 plan until a few days before it is set to renew. Going to port it over to PM when the time comes May 18th as it's cheaper in the long run...

For just $20/month get unlimited Canada-wide calling and texting when you switch to a Fido plan with a monthly bill... Call 1-844-434-2159 or visit fido.ca/stores and switch today. Exclusive offer for chatr customer ends May 31,2019. Reply STOP to opt-out of chatr msgs. Reach us at chatrmobile.com/contactus .
Thank you RFD community for helping me with spending money!

So is this the same as OP's $25 deal except $5 cheaper and no international 1000 mins? That's actually what I want, as I have a dual sim Sony and looking for the cheapest unlimited Canada calling only plan to go along with my data only plan. Thanks for the details. I will ask about the deal in store and see how it goes.

The $20 plan (sometimes goes up to $25) has been around for over a year and a half now and has had multiple threads.
Anyone with a Chatr account active for over 30 days (even less time if you can get a rep over chat to migrate you) can get the $20 migration plan by switching to Rogers/Fido

Just on chat with Fido through their website and the agent has no idea about this plan :(

Edit: The agent just found it but confirmed it's for new activations only. Looks like I'll be switching to Virgin or Lucky.
Edit2: They found A plan. Doesn't offer 1000 long distance minutes and says it might be an in-store promo only.
