yep, and it is for 'trial accounts, or new accounts only/starter edition'. Existing trial accounts will get the free upgrade.
All part of the major patch, august 11th:

https://www.pcgamesn.com/final-fantasy- ... l-level-60

This is why I really like this game, I have been subscribed for quite some time in total, but I feel that the developers are giving back a lot of content. They add dungeons/trials in major patches. You are not stuck without new content until release of expansion packs like some other MMOs.

*Note* If you are a Trial/starter account, you can buy the game at discount, but don't activate it... once you activate it, you can only login with a valid monthly subscription.

For those unable to take advantage of the Steam version sale, the SE store has Shadowbringers for $20USD (~$26CDN). Enjoy.

Also for anyone on the fence, the free trial of this game now goes to level 60 (previously 35) and grants you access to the entire base game and the first expansion, Heavensward.

Click on your profile, add a billing address and shipping address to your account. Once setup, on future orders it defaults to those addresses, which allows you to checkout. I was having same issue-_-

What's the difference between the complete edition and shadowbringers edition?

You must own the game Ff14 if you just buy shadowbringer.

If you are completely new, you need to buy complete.

That's great. For clarity, this is part of their 5.3 patch which releases on august 11th.

Kind of wish i didnt get the steam version since i had some progress on ps4 and could just continued on the square enix version.

Complete edition does for new accounts. Not expansion if you already own realm reborn...

Steam version and PS4 version can be linked to the same account.

You can definitely continue playing your PS4 character from the Steam version. Only case it wouldn't work is if you own the SE version and already have it linked to that same account

Damn... Bought this for regular price a few weeks ago since I already had ARR and couldn't take advantage of the Steam sale.

Oh well... I just finished the main Shadowbringers quests today lol

If you have Starter edition already, just buy Shadowbringer edition. You'll have all previous expansions in there. Completed edition includes Starter edition which you don't need.
