Finding solutions for US to Canada shipments

Hi there,

I've found good deals on US sites but international shipping rates are ruining any of the good deals I find.
Does anyone have a good method that they've used personally for getting their stuff from the US to Canada at a reasonable cost?

I've looked into package redirection services, but I'm skeptical because they seem too complex and/or the redirection cost looks too high
Are there alternate ship methods that I can suggest to the online retailer that would work out better for me?

open to any ideas

thanks

(if you're wondering, I'm looking to get a few medium sized board games, and some Wii/360 video games)

If you live close to the border, you can look one of those Parcel Pickup places. That is, you have your package delivered to their site, then show up in person and pay about $5 per package upon pickup. Then you bring it across the border yourself.

By all accounts, declaring your goods when you cross, even when it is over your limit, will in fact get you waved through and not require you to pay duties or taxes. More often than not anyway.

There are places like:

Niagara / Buffalo area:
http://www.cbiusa.com/ - CBI
http://www.usaddressinc.com/ - US Address Inc

Port Huron:
http://www.usparcelpickup.com/ - SCC Parcel Pickup
http://www.bluewatershippingdepot.com/ - Bluewater Shipping Depot

There are others too along the border...it depends on where you want to frequent (i.e. Washington State, Vermont/New York State)
