Depends what you plan on using it for....I have 4K and 4K max and I bought a 1080p Fire Stick lite when it was on sale for $16.99 to use when I travel....the reason I bought a 1080p - I have had a 4K firestick suddenly glitch and go into 4K mode while plugged into a 1080p TV - the TV displayed a "Can't Display This Resolution" error and I had to move it to a 4K TV to change the resolution back to 1080p. When I travel, I can't be sure the TV where I am staying supports 4K.
BTW Kodi version 20 was released this week.

Do you just plug this into your tv and it just works?

I got the fire cube for $90 in July 2022. It’s pretty sweet. I have a return window for it still and wondering if I should return it and wait a bit for the 3rd Gen cube to go on sale?
My cube is already set up to block updates so it’s pretty fast. I don’t know if that can be applied on the 3rd gen. Your thoughts?

Thinks of my wad of 4K's that have been firmware locked, with full custom launchers active. Some new in box

All they are used for is TiViMate and they are perfect for that.

I probably won't get any pats on the back for this but some posts on here look to be baiting for IPTV services. Be warned. I'm just an end user I do not offer anything, but the 'I'm helping MORE people get hooked up' etc etc. stand out a mile lol.

Tempted but really really want that new announced fire tv pro remote bundled with something. Remote has customization, lights, search for remote function and more.

Any difference between this and the older models? Realistically if I'm just using it to stream Netflix?

You can get this same price at BestBuy and maybe other local stores. You can definitely get a price reduction with Home Depot for additional off. Rakuten too.

I still will pick Android TV OS rather than Fire OS Bloatware. For roughly the same price ($52.94 total shipped to Ontario) you can order the ONN 4K Android TV from Amazon.com.

Unfortunately this year we have 8% inflation and the C$ below US 73 cents, another 8% hit. I think it's very unlikely Amazon has room to drop prices further on new stock with a 16% cost increase since last year.darknebulae wrote: ↑ Hopefully it will drop to $39.99 on BF.
Last year during November pre-BF sale Amazon mistakenly listed it for $39.99 on their home page, and some customers ended up getting it for $39.99 price after customer service refunded the $10. Got mine the same way.

I got them from Walmart.com for $15US each and shipped them to a forwarder, added to a box coming over.

Worth upgrading to 4k max from 4k?
Or wait for next gen/deal on cube 2
Any benefit of Atmos in a 5.1 setup? (higher bitrate?)
