Staples.ca/Bureau En Gros has it on sale, too, but you can sign up for the newsletters and get an extra 10$ off if you buy more then 2 (need to be 100$ or more). :p

The current non-4K version has solid performance, It's 50% faster than the second generation model.

The current version of the non-4K stick (2021) has exactly the same speed processor (Quad-core CPU 1.7GHz, GPU 650MHz) as the 4K version. The primary difference is that the 4K has 1.5GB RAM to handle the larger video buffer and a less powerful GPU because it's pushing fewer pixels.

Firestick doesn't have Chromecast, but you can cast from native apps (Youtube, Netflix, etc)
It can do screen mirroring also

People have been complaining about the Google TV being bogus however

Thx op, ordered another 4kmax to use on the new q90a Samsung tv I just purchased. Hoping the new fire tv remote pro comes down in price in the future, as of right now there new remote alone costs more then the 4kmax kit on sale, lol.

Also there's a free app you can use called StbEmu that works great as well. Interface looks like it's from the 1980's, however. Ugly.

Darn, I would really like to grab a few of these, BUT unfortunately, this Fire Stick is reported not to work with PLEX!
Can anyone confirm if PLEX works on this product?

Amazon Prime delivery is BS, While I was checking the product on my phone it say's next day prime delivery available; once I login to my account only 2 day delivery is available. So they're basically treating their existing prime members like $hit. Time to cancel Amazon Prime.

And I seriously question those 8% inflation rates.
Just a year ago it was still common for coke to be on sale for $3.49 for a twelve pack. Cucumbers still went on sale for under $1/each. Now the best price for coke is $6.99. Cucumbers are $3.99. Pretty much all grocery prices have gone up simmilarly. People are reselling 5 year old vehicles for more than they paid new. Housing sells for about 3x the tax accessments from just a couple of years ago.

About they only things that have not gone up by much more than 8% is items under contract. And even then Cogeco is did its 8% increase.

Try electronics have not been rising at ridiculous rates. Hard drives can still be found at $20/TB. But these actually would have dropped to $10/TB by now if not for inflation.

Even with the max the UI is slow as hell, riddled with ads and junk.

I miss my wolf launcher :(
I have a Chromecast with Google TV and the 4K Max and the 4K Max is noticeably faster.

Agreed about the ads, though.

Definitely Chromecast. However, most apps are available on firestick (you can even hack it to download whatever). Speaking from experience, I have a 4kmax, 4K, and a regular one. Always go with 4k. Pay that extra 10-20$. 4K max vs. the rest is a day and night difference as one of the members pointed out. The lag is not there at all. The regular Firestick pisses me off. It lags so much when you scroll up and down.

I noticed that lately, they may be understaffed, if you order early on, next day is available, but if they get too many orders during the day, it will get pushed further back

I got them from Walmart.com for $15US each and shipped them to a forwarder, added to a box coming over.
You got it for $15 from walmart.com? You sure it was this and not the ONN Android TV stick?

Originally when this was released it was $29.99 and the lower spec'd stick was $19.99, now the stick is $14.99 and this is $19.99. I too tend to order stuff through my Shippsy US forwarding address, but factor in the service fees and the drive to Mississauga to pick it up, it's more or less the same to order from Amazon.com for $29 USD and with shipping/taxes, it's pretty much the same at ~$50 CDN shipped to my doorstep. I ordered 2, new android TV box for me to "put through the ringer".

I used to order the original Fire stick from the US before it was even available in Canada and would load some "third-party" (Kodi days) software on them and easily flip them for $150/ea, must've sold 60-70 of them , those were the days!! :) After that it was the MiBox, then the TiVo Stream 4k for the past 2yrs, now I'm gonna give these ONN players "a whirl". I have the Original 2017 shields myself, still "king" when it comes to streaming/IPTV.
