Fireplace mantel

If you are painting it, it’s one of the easier DIY projects. I would not put a TV about a hot source, but if you do, I would not put it directly on the mantel.

Esp if you want something more substantial in style

As to hanging a tv above a fireplace ... not a fan
Esp if your room allows for other options
