Transferred one line from lucky mobile to fizz. So far so good.
I am glad the promo has been extended. Have two more lines to bring over.

Lack of popularity on RFD maybe due to rough start two years ago. But from what I gathered on Reddit, the bugs have been worked out.

I been with fizz and grandfathered into their initial launch ( which was shaky ) but right now I don’t see their pricing to be competitive .
Only advantage is data rollover . Works fine in Ottawa .

Switch where? I still think their pricing is very good...especially when you can reduce the data plan whenever

Out of curiosity, which provider do you find offers better pricing? (I'm also in Ottawa, fwiw)

All mobile companies let you change plan anytime, prepaid and postpaid.

I left Fizz mobile (at beta price) for Public Mobile, -$2/mth for autopay, staying for the loyalty bonus (max -$5/5years). Many other companies to choose from, depending on your usage. e.g. Lucky offers unlimited data at 128kbps after u use up your plan data.

I continue to use Fizz Internet, reliable cable connection, my beta price remains unchanged (for now).

Been with Fizz during their launch phase. I have over $500 in referral celr3dits, and, even with many months of free service I would never ever go back with them.

Not true to say that it have something to do with Vidéotron. It is owned by Québecor, who owns Fizz. Fizz use Vidéotron's infrastructures but it stops there. Customers service is almost non-existent, tech support is way less than poor. Had so many issues with them that could have been easily corrected but because of the lack if aftersale service and tech support I have been left on my own.

Long story short: I had a Nexus 6P (that been sold by Vidéotron, was working with Vidéotron) and Fizz disconnected my data (LTE + 3G) access based on the supposed fact that the Nexus 6P was mot compatible with their network. Although they were still charging full price for a LTE data plan. Switched from Fizz to Vidéotron and voilà, it worked flawlessly. So, as said, me and Fizz Will never be Seen in a near future.

Above this, except for those who are still on the beta priced plans their plans are not that cheap. I have cheaper directly with Vidéotron, with the Legendary good customers and tech support Vidéotron can provide. $112/months for 2X 3Gb plan + 2X 9Gb plans

I've been with them since just after the beta but during the stabilization period I got my plan locked in at just under $40 with 10gb of data with rollover. Speeds are adequate but nothing compared to the big 3 and I find once I venture out of town into rural areas my coverage starts to get spotty even though I should be roaming. I'm starting to consider doing a BYOD @ $50/month with 20gb so that when I get an Apple Watch I can leverage the LTE service.

I have fizz for the USA +Canada coverage and the rollover. It has been very useful for me and by putting my referral code in their referral subreddit I've earned about 300$ in credits. Basically have only paid a few months in full

Yeah but not all companies have reasonable in market offers. You constantly try to get a retention offer. Once you’re in you wouldnt want to change anything.

Fizz is always reasonable. Which I like.

I’m curious to see why Fizz isn’t a bigger deal on RFD.
As your title says "Ottawa/QC only", that's why it's not a bigger deal on RFD.

And their plans are, meh, about the same as all other Mobile providers.

Anyone knows how it works if you have a QC only plan and then travel within Canada?
Also do you guys expect the plan prices to increase soon? Would only need QC+4GB data now but i know i will need Canada+8GB once the pandemic over... I'm wondering if I should lock in the bigger plan right now.

Nobody knows the future but I don't see why prices would go up. The trend for the prices at Fizz mobile has been down in the last few months or the amount of GB has increased significantly for similar prices. So I don't think you should lock-in a bigger plan right now; only when you need it.

I don't know if you are already a Fizz mobile subscriber or if you know about Fizz features but one that might benefit you is the data rollover to your next month. So if one month you don't use all your data, it rolls over to the next month. This way, you can get away with a smaller plan than what you would normally subscribe to elsewhere.

You can add Canada coverage at any time to your plan. The cost is only $2 extra. I think it would take effect at the beginning of your next cycle. You can buy an add-on that take effect immediately if needed.

There's a promotion going on at Fizz until July 15th: the referral bonus for mobile or Home Internet is $50 instead of the regular $25: RFD thread. Link to a RFD post about Fizz mobile

FWIW: Quebec zone only, no outgoing texts and no voice mails turns out to only $17 + tx / month.

You get unlimited calls within Québec, and free incoming texts (and calls) from anywhere.

This is the cheapest voice plan (in province zone) available anywhere. Has been available at Fizz for more than a year.
