Fizz is doing a promotion whereby the 200mbps plan is going for $53/month.

I was previously subbed for 120mbps for $53/month so essentially i got an upgrade of 80mbps for free. Awesome!

For those curious (and thinking this isn't a great deal) Bell only provides up to 100mbps at my location for $65 ($90 after promo expires) and Videotron only offers up to 400mbps to my location for $73 ($85 after promo expires) So 200mbps for $53 (which will only get cheaper and not more expensive) is quite good imo

No, a hot deal.

More seriously, i am on 120mb / 20 for 50$ before my rebate.

For me it's going to become an increase of 3$ per month. I find the network where i am pretty unstable. Speed and latency vary alot here. And i am not talking about the numerous down time. Here in trois rivieres, i am sure big city don't have such issue, or not that amplitude.

Yes, as a standard in market plan.
I won’t be switching from my gigabit $49.99 plan, but definitely something to consider when the promo is over.

I'm on 120/20 50$ with Fizz, I'll be happy to change my plan to this 200/30!

Does this rate expire after a while or until further notice it stays at $53/mo ?

Let's see: Bell Fibe 1.5 with 1500Mbps down and 940Mbps up for $60/month or this deal with 200Mbps down and 30Mbps up for $53.
It's a no-brainer at this point to go with Bell in Quebec even if they'll raise the price over time.

It's the regular rate. If anything it will go down with time through Fizz's upgrade/perk system. I said in the OP that i paid $53, but it's actually $49 + tax after upgrades.

Prices are always locked in, even if there's no contract. So unless you choose to change, the price will never go up. There are people with beta accounts still paying $39 - bonuses to this day for 120/20.

How is it a no brainer? In a year, Bell will be charging you $100+ and this will still be $53

Any gamers here that have experience with Fizz? I wanted to try them out but have heard of issues with the Fizz modem causing latency spikes in online games, which is holding me back.

I game and so does my roommate. Been with Fizz for about a year and a half. I have never had any issues while gaming per se, however I have had to restart the modem a few times. Overall I'd say it's satisfactory.
Also worth noting that 200mbps translates to 25MB/s which is nice for downloading game and playing them the same day/night.

I have huge latency issue here. It's clearly not a top notch connection

Are you located in a big town? Are you using a VPN?
Honestly I've tried Bell, Videotron and Fizz and they were all the same in terms of gaming for me.
The commonality is that I have had to reboot the modem a handful of times regardless of provider.
