[Foodbasics] Food Basics: Cheap Beef. Eye of Round Roasts $4.18/kg plus 40% off (Ottaw) YMMV
Okay before all the E-Coli cracks come. This is USDA Beef so not from XL Foods in Alberta.
These are larger cryovac roasts that are about 3 kg each.
I guess the E-Coli scare is making them have too much stock or whatever. Price was already great at $4.18/kg but with extra 40% sticker on it this is the cheapest I've bought beef ever. Works out to be $2.50 /kg (2.508 for those that care)
I bought a few to cut up and freeze as smaller roasts etc..
I saw this at FB on Merivale in Ottawa so YMMV elsewhere
