[Foodbasics] Persil detergent - 48 loads, 2.2L - $5.99 price matching loophole

Food basics right now has a sale for Purex and Persil. The sale states '25-100' loads. Now I'm pretty sure the Persil for 25 loads is $5.99 but given that the sale on the flyer is so vague I was able to price match at my local No Frills for the Persil 48 loads for $5.99. Usually the 48 loads is $12.97.

I tried price matching at two different No Frills location and was able to buy the Persil 48 loads for $5.99 successfully. This is a steal at $0.14 cents per load after taxes and if you're a Persil fan then this is a deal for you.

Nope

Do your math ... $15.99/110 = $0.145
I'd rather be outdoors camping, kayaking, and mountain biking ...

$5.99/48 = $0.125 per load
$5.99*1.13/48 = $0.1410
$15.99*1.13/110=$0.164

True, seemed cheaper without doing the math :). However, this is a regular sale they have every few weeks so no need to PM and/or use loopholes, plus the risk of traveling to the store and not getting the PM, so a bit YMMV to me.

Helps when you know which No Frills cashiers aren't sticklers :) I'm lucky enough to have one at my local store who doesn't even ask to see the ad!

Superstore has the 96-loads every now and then for $8.99. I've seen it at least twice at that price in the past few months. Once was with 3000 bonus points.

True ... given the tax influences both at the same rate, I didnt want to assume everyone was paying Ontario HST.
Most grocery store shelf tags will break prices down by per serving or other units of measure BEFORE taxes ... but your right.

The ones I go to as long as the pic looks similar and the size range matches. It's impossible for them to know it's x brand that's 100. So they'll PM up to 100 loads in the brands that matches. All they care about is that it survives audit and keeps line moving

I would have PM'd the Persil 96 loads but none of my no frills locations carry them. Even walmart at dufferin mall doesn't sell Persil
