FormulaOne Auto Tint Pinnacle worth it?

Any one got this tint before? Is it worth it? It' $375 for the whole car and the FormulaOne Classic series is $300. I spoken with John from Auto-links and he recommend it and saying it's a much better film. Does anyone have this and can give an opinion? Would I notice a difference between this and a regular $200 tint job?

Also, 35% front 25% back sounds good?

I have the same tint done on my car, it was one of the first things I did in 2012 and have been happy with it 3 years later. No signs of discolour, peeling, bubbles, or scratches. It looks the same the first day I got it and quality is really good. Plus it's lifetime warranty irrc.

They say ceramic is better to keep heat out and less signal interference. I have both black leather seats and navigation/bluetooth and have not experienced any signal interruptions and dropped calls. Of course this could just be a coincidence as I've never owned another car with normal tint to compare. In the summer my car does get hot from all the heat trapped, but there's really no quantifiable way to measure how effective it keeps heat out over any random period of time. But all in all, no complaints and money well spent as it's gonna be on your car pretty much permanently.

Depends on your personal preferences, but imo mismatched tint looks silly.

Had formula one on two cars, no problems. Had 35%,thinking of possibly going 25% next time.

I have had both products. I currently have dyed film in all my cars, sold the car with the ceramic from F1. Personally, you will not be able to tell the difference between ceramic and film. Also, I wouldn't invest that much ever again into tint for a car that I wouldn't keep for life.

So there was no real difference between ceramic and dyed in terms of heat inside the car or clarity looking through the film?

Not sure if you're genuinely interested/curious/ or just being that poster.

Sure there is, it's completely different material, but you think the average person will notice? If you walked up an seen two cars, one with ceramic and one with dye, do you think you would know? TBH, I've never notice any difference with the temp inside the car. The clarify to me is when you compare them during the evening/night time. It isn't worth the hundreds extra again, esp if you are not keep the car long term. Troll elsewhere if trolling.

Nope genuinely interested, my GF will be getting a tint done in the spring and I'm trying to decide, no trolling here.

To me I would say a $100 increase in cost would be worth it if the ceramic was noticeably clearer to see through, or if it made a noticeable difference while driving in the summer during the day. The GF's car has big windows, so any effect would be a lot more noticeable than on a car like a Charger/Challenger/Camaro.

Had formula one pinnacle for 13 years on my GTI. Did not discolour one bit. Looked the same as the day it was put on. Just bought a CRV so i had the same put on the front two windows. Going darker than 35% makes night driving harder.

Yes absolutley. I have 30% all around and 15% in the back. My car is black on black and it makes a huge difference in the summer. Nightime driving is an easy adjustment after some driving.

To me the ceramic absolutely makes a difference in heat rejection and I have had both. Now I use the ceramic more for the heat rejection than for glare/cool factor. My installer has a demo with a heat lamp and rotating wheel with the different tint grades. The ceramic rejects the lamp heat a ton more than the dyed tints....and they are all LLumar tints.

Get the ceramic, it has much better heat rejection than the dyed film. I got mine done at Auto Links.

+1

The risk is worth it IMO, honestly it seems cops toned down on this including license plate covers.

I've always had Coupes and didn't really care for it TBH but when I got my 2015 Murano obviously the rear windows came factory tinted and I hated the look, it's one of the reasons why finally got it done (first time), at Auto-Links. They did an amazing job.

I got it done late in the Summer but then again not really concerned about the heat, having a Push Start with Auto Climate Control helped big time. LOL
You got to be a new type of stupid, to do me wrong, not apologize, think that if you let time go by, you can hit me up like you still have access to me.

I did 35% on the front of my 2015 CRV and it's slightly lighter so probably 25 to 30%. Still looks great with 35% though. For me I don't like going too dark anymore for night time visibility.

I can't even remember what Auto-Links offer in the ceramic. I think I got 20% but the rear windows are still slightly darker. I would say 15%.

As for it being too dark, I would say it is and takes aa while to get used to. I posted this in the other thread that the Blind Spot Monitor system helped.

i just got it done today at pureauto looks pretty nice. i went with 30% all around. i do agree mismatching front and back do look bad. 30% came out good, not to dark but gives a nice look to the car.
