Bestbuy just post on their web. 0 for iphone 4. + 100 GC but 2 year plan, i really do not know what is that but if is not restricted to any plan then the 25 / month is a good deal. + you can get 30 reward bonus if you sign up with their promotion.

How so? Koodo requires $150 up front, doesn't include a gift card, and takes more than two years to pay off the tab (39 months if you're on the $39 plan)

If you got koodo from cellular point then you would have understand the concept. Cant explain the whole thing. But I got Iphone from koodo, the sales rep told me that after 3 months you can pay back the left over balance. And if two people signed up then he will give me extra 75 dollars toward my TAB for both Iphone.

Being so close to the border, and crossing the border frequently, does Fido charge for incoming text messages while 'roaming' like Koodo does?

Bzzt. Massively, completely wrong.

The 10% tab plans offered by Koodo and Virgin are the worst in the business. They have the lowest monthly subsidy pay-downs. The $150 tab requires $1500 of service to pay off, which is 43 months on the $35 plan ($3.50/pay-down month) or 39 months on a $39 agreement ($3.90/month).

Fido's 24 month tab is completely paid off in 2 years, a subsidy pay-down of $12.50/month for the iPhone 4. That means an extra $103.20 per year is applied to your handset subsidy by Fido.

The only reason an RFDer should consider a Koodo tab is if they're getting VISA gift cards and a large cash discount on the handset and plan to cancel immediately. Unfortunately, you'll have to wait until the back-to-school and Thanksgiving sales programs for the really good discounts.

I don't even understand what you're trying to say with the first sentence, but since when is the ability to pay back the leftover balance a deal? That's like purchasing it outright but without the 10% discount you get for BYOD. Fido also has a referral program that pays the same as Koodo: http://www.fido.ca/web/content/whyfido/referafriend - the extra 75 dollars you'd get would still not match the $150 cheaper initial price + $100 gift card with the Fido plan.

No, I dont think its massive, its phone by phone and term. Right now Koodo has just raised its price of its iphone4 while Telus, for the first time I have ever seen, is letting you grab one on a plan thats less than $50 a month. In fact its quite a good deal right now if you want to dip into the iphone world.

Myself, I want a Z10. If I do the math over the Telus required 36 months with the closest Telus plan over $50 (Telus required) I come up with Telus=$2260 and Koodo=$2008. Koodo made me pay $400 upfront and I guess you could say Telus financed that $400 for at a cost of $260. I have an excellent $45 a month plan with Koodo, the closest match I could find with Telus with a GB a month as well was $63. If your needs were less you might be able to shave the $260 a bit, but I couldnt.

+1. Had to resort back to the 4 from the 4S back when I had iPhones and it was almost unbearable. What a difference.
