What is an ikea family card & how do I get one? I work right beside an ikea and their coffee is actually pretty good the few times I've had it.

Yep ... Their coffee is quite decent actually ... Tastes great!

IKEA Family card is a free card that ANYONE can get in IKEA in a matter of couple of minutes ... Stop at the booth ... enter your information - name, email etc .. and one will be given out to you instantly (then possibly they'll mail you the real plastic cards ... - for key chain (small one) and large one maybe too ... unless they come out of machine right away - that I strongly doubt ...

In any case, quite simple to get an IKEA Family card ... and totally free.

Yep ... Nokia Lumia 640 ... - My phone for talking, texting and it has sim card in it with data from provider. Apps are limited nowadays .. but I still have some and like the phone otherwise ... Voice quality is very good in it ... for talking etc ...

WhatsApp, WeChat etc still work in it too.

I also have 2 android phones ... - Huewei and LG G5 .. that use only over Wi-Fi ... no sim cards in them ...

Just my preference to have it like that ... Who knows, maybe some day I'll switch and put the SIM card in an Android phone ... but for now -- I am quite happy with my current Mobile set up ... I get by quite well etc

Ikea Burlington has not had a functioning Ikea Family machine in months. When I was at the store on Aug. 9, I confirmed that the store no longer has one. Best to sign up online or in-store as advised.

Good to know. That is probably why I’ve never heard of it, I only go to Burlington

The machine used to be on the upper level if you took the stairs from the main lobby up. It was right outside the bathrooms. Last fall, there was a machine in the lobby, but it had a page stating it was not working stuck onto the unit. So I knew this month, I had to buy something in order to get entered into the monthly $100 gc draw as there was no other in-store way to "log in" that I was there.

I am at Ikea Winnipeg now.

Those kiosk booths to generate ikea family card are not even here ... Not for a long time already.

Have to go online now...and generate the card there.

So I go to second floor...to the restaurant... -- and it's true. Can have Free hot drink now any time ....with Ikea family card.

Having hot drink now...as we speak...

Then planning to rinse the cup and pour in something carbonated cold.

I remember when I first got the card, this was one of the perks, then at some point they removed it. Though the original perk supposedly only work on weekdays.

You could've bought a breakfast or two for $1 each ...and then stayed there for a while (or all day even) having quality hot or cold beverages at no cost.

I'm heading to Ikea today. If I signup online now, will my phone receive a "temporary" card so I can get the free coffee today or do I have to wait for the card to arrive in snail mail ?

I was at Winnipeg Ikea ... and no longer any booths there to get it while there.
Some woman told me ... you sign up online nowadays ... and can get your Ikea Family card into your phone basically ... right away.

According to her, they don't send the physical card via snail mail any longer. But who knows ... Try to sign up online and see basically.

I was told they don't give out physical cards anymore, it's digital only so have to sign up online and you show it on your phone.
