[Home Depot] Free stand with Ridgid sliding mitre saws

Buy a Ridgid 10" or 12" sliding mitre saw and get a free stand:

$449 for the 12" saw: https://www.homedepot.ca/product/ridgid ... 1001235328
$398 for the 10" saw: https://www.homedepot.ca/product/ridgid ... 1001093823

The free stand you get (usually $199): https://www.homedepot.ca/product/1001531105

The 12" one seems like a great deal so I picked one up when I saw the deal in store. I always regretted buying a 10" cheapo 15 years ago instead of a sliding 12" which makes it much easier for mitre cuts and larger lumber

Reviews indicate blade wobble with the 12" but that seems to be on the older model (R4221).

Do these take a lot of room? especailly the back side the arm stands out I think.

I think Bosch came out with space saving mechanism. I wonder if Ridgid one does the same?

Video about it here:
Ye ok, that robot looking arm is the space saver. I hope I can snag the old one on sale, which I think it was at some places a couple of weeks ago.

I don't recommend the old one. Bought one, couldn't square it to save it's life. Then the fence screws decided to strip despite the fact I was using the tool provided to adjust the fence. Cuts were 1/8 off over 9.5 inches, and that's adjusted the best I could get it

You're talking about the R4222? Or the one before?

Can't remember but I bought it in 2018 or 2019. Either way the r4221 and r4222 are crap and have problems.

Does the receipt show partial values?

Ie. Can the stand be returned?

Already have the stand, and would be definitely interested in upgrading my 10" dewalt to a sliding mitre.

Here's what my receipt shows:

648846075952 Stand <A> 199.00

What stand do you have? That one? Do you like it? I was hoping they'd restock the "gravity" one and that I could pay the difference but it seems out of stock everywhere and no clue if it will ever come back

I'm looking to redo all the baseboards and window trims in the house. is the 10" saw a good buy at the moment with the free stand? anyone have issues with some of the reported blade wobble or fence not aligned?

I did. And returned it. It's a POS that I'd avoid.

I did some research about 18 months ago and yes, it was only a specific range of serial numbers for the 4221 that had the wobble issue. The current model isn't even made by the same manufacturer that made the 4221 if I recall correctly.

DO NOT use the compact stand with the 12" miter saw, unless it's in your shop and on perfectly flat solid ground. It will flip over sideways incredibly easy when moving it or flipping out for use.
Use DeWalt heavy duty or Ridgid's msuv at minimum, the 12" is a big heavy beast.

Probably ok for the 10", but not on gravel, unpacked dirt, or grass.

Nice catch-all there bud. Ridgid makes changes mid model number all the time so your 3-4 years old model ain't exactly relevant. I have the R4222, built end of 2021 and it's anything but crap. It's a beast, does 2x12 at 45 bevel and miter same time. It's accurate, it's doesn't deflect hardly at all, and no, it doesn't have blade wobble.
