I'm considering switching from koodo, is the signal good? I am in Montreal if that makes any difference. This is a separate company from other carriers right?

To get iphone 11 for free, one needs to get at least 60buck package. Else there is a 400+ down payment and 20 cad tab on phone plan

Is the price permanent after 2 years? This is very tempting for 35$ hmm

No, the two year terms moved from protecting the carrier to protecting your price. 2 years I doubt mobile data will be as expensive as it is now, but im sure the bill will be higher either way. Without a device you can cancel anytime with no additional cancellation costs, or call / negotiate another term if 11gb/$35 works for you going into 2023.

I just switched from freedom to Koodo... $39 with 9GB data.

Freedom network is not that great. there is so many blind spots in toronto.

Waiting for incumbents' response. Actual competition. Though I'd never see the day.

I wouldn't have freedom as my main line, that's for sure. Spotty signal everywhere, doesnt work well inside buildings and so on

Any issues with Freedom in Ottawa? I'm with Kooko and considering a move because Koodo took away my 1000 international minutes when I changed data plans and they didn't tell me about it until called to ask about a long distance charge. Anyone else lose their 1000 minutes of international calling after upgrading data plan?

PSA: If your plan doesn't include Freedom Nationwide data and you have a smartphone, don't plan on leaving the city.

I was pretty happy with Freedom for two years until I started a job in a dead zone for their signal, so I switched carries. For some people, Freedom is perfectly fine, but for many, their network has serious problems with reception in key downtown buildings. Make sure you research this first, lest you join the long line-up of ranting losers at every Freedom Mobile mall location demanding refunds etc.
