No, this 25% discount can only be applied on a new activation.
Yes, it qualifies as a 60+ plan for the tab.
Ahh, thanks for the info. Would it work if I signed up for a new activation, port my number over to the new plan, and then cancel my old plan? I currently don't have a tab on my old $40 grandfathered plan that I've had with Freedom for 6 years.

So this 25% can be combined with $75 20GB plan with free iPhone Xr? Deal just became lava hot then

$56.25 for 20GB and iPhone Xr/Galaxy S10e
Or if you sell the iPhone for $800, it's like $23 for 20GB for 24mo

I don't think the Summer Event 25% Discount promo can be combined with the Absolute $0 promo.
I saw a post somewhere saying No. Someone at K-Days might confirm for us.

Did some digging, got the details.

YES, the "Event 25% off x 24mo" plan promo can be used with the Absolute $0 phone promo.

On the NEW Big Gig Unlimited plans that rolled out this week, the 25% discount will convert to a fixed $15 discount off the plan ($60+ plans).
(You need to be on a new BGU plan for the Absolute $0 deal)
And the $15 is a lifetime discount!

So that new iPhone XR or S10e with 18GB of data will cost you just $60/mo over the 24-month term, and the $15 discount will continue thereafter, as long as you remain on a $60+ plan.

NB: the important thing is to activate on one of the new plans at the event. Do not fret if the guy doing the activation is not familiar with all the details, and do not expect to get your iPhone XR or S10e on the spot, they may not have enough stock on hand. You can get the phone later at a store and sign the device agreement at that point. What matters is securing that permanent $15 discount by virtue of the "25%" event discount on a new activation at the event kiosk.

This is a pretty significant development. Thanks for confirming.
$15 discount is still pretty attractive.

Sucks the availability of the promo is so limited though and they're doing a terrible job advertising it.

You mean the event promos? Yeah, they seem to be targetting new signups from the passing crowds at the ex, and don't really want it broadcast outside the event. The original source were internal marketing documents received by iPhone in Canada.
The only thing I've found online is the trial SIM activation page.

How is coverage outside the Edmonton city limits? Talking about Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Gibbons, Bon Accord, etc.

You'll probably get more feedback in the subreddit.

I would assume they have a limited quantity like any pop up store.
