Equals 10.75/mo.

Still a deal?
Less value but could still work for some people. Your alternative is something like PM for $13/month with autopay and it drops by $1/month each year and $1/month for each referral, 8’m paying $8 for my kids plan. Down side is that it’s only 100 minutes out but unlimited incoming, and you also get 250MB data plus very low cost minutes and data add-ons.

I got this Freedom plan because I’m putting it in a dual sim setup with another data plan. I already know reception works for me from years of WIND Mobile. If you need any data at all, especially for occasional use, I think Public Mobile might be better with their never expiring data add-ons. So I feel like that other Freedom prepaid annual $199 plan isn’t worth getting.
Some people just don't get that online forum posts shouldn't always be taken seriously.

$10.75 a month is still a pretty good deal... there's still nothing comparable price wise. People are comparing this plan (unlimited minutes) to plans with 100 min a month. There are still people who can use 100 minutes of voice calling in a day.

Hopefully anyone who wanted this got in yesterday, but the new price is still way cheaper than anywhere else.

Maybe $99 will be back for Black Friday, we'll have to see.

The $199 plan is overpriced. Because correct me if I'm wrong, but if you add on five 1GB data packages to the $99 plan @ $15 each, your total cost is $175, not $199...

By that time, this promo is over and done with. :( Sigh...would've been nice to know on their website. On the website, it made it seem like you activate right then and there and wait for the SIM to be mailed in.
Check out the Freedom site in a month or so, it might be back for Black Friday. This deal was available for over 6 months...

True, but there's two ways to look at it. Each $15/GB lasts 30 days whether you use it or not, on the other hand the $199 plan with 5GB is good for a year and once used up is at reduced speed until the top-up date. If a person purchased a $15/GB add-on every month for a year, than it makes for a fairer comparison, making it $99 + $180 = $279 ( $309 at the new $129 rate). It really depends person-to-person as to how much data they require. The $99 plan is/was a great plan for those with no intention of purchasing the $15/GB monthly add-on, otherwise than a monthly prepaid plan at $19 is a better deal with 1.5/GB, roughly $50 ($80 at the new $129 rate) cheaper for the year.

Well, except for the $0/month Shaw talk and text plan, of course. ;) But yes, this was definitely the cheapest standalone/non-bundled talk and text plan.

$199 plan has the capped speed unlimited after 5gb and can use shaw hotspots. seems ok for light use.

I thought it stopped after 5gb?

Edit: Now says this on their website "Speeds reduced beyond 5GB"

Seems even more tempting now!

Hey all, how likely is it that freedom will intro this again for BF? Have they done so with previous year promos? I need a talk only plan for my dad and this fits the bill. He’ll be using an iPhone 5, would that work for talk only nationwide with them? Or I was thinking of signing up for one month on the $14 plan, then switching to yearly, does that work or do I need a new sim for such a change?

So... I was able to get this plan still by just opening a chat with freedom and just flat out asking the rep! I just had to open an account with freedom on the $14 a month plan. After I ported my number and settled everything. I asked the same rep if he could give me the plan. He was able to not only do it but he refunded everything I paid for the $14 plan onto the $99 plan!
