I think it's more like offering a Staples coupon code that you don't need; there's noting to be gained by the giver.

That is 100% false. FnF codes are discount codes for existing subscribers to give to their friends and families..... the more recent FnF codes no longer work on existing Accounts.

Nope, OP is just being nice and giving 4 fellow RFDers a discount because the codes will expire in a few days if not used. Freedom gives these codes out every so often and they have a deadline. If not redeem, they just expire.

You could speculate rather or not Shaw/freedom track the redemption rate or care if they are redeem but honestly unless you are in upper management or there is a leak, there is no certainty in that and again whoever gets the code still get a discount so do you really care? I don’t get why there are so many downvotes for this beside the fact some are bitter about not getting a code. Maybe next time OP (or whoever) wants to give out codes, they should just do it in a freedom mobile thread so those who didn’t get a code can’t downvote...

You do not get discounts for giving someone a FNF code. I have received these to give out as a customer, it did not say anything about “referrals” or discounts towards your account.

Also “it's also a bit awkward because it sets u as 'friend/n/family'“…? What are you talking about. These codes do not tie you together to anyone else's account 🤦‍♂️

Please stop spreading MISINFORMATION.
