[Freedom Mobile] Freedom Mobile 25% off plans $40 and up

The Freedom Mobile store at Aberdeen Centre, Richmond BC was offering 25% off all plans $40 and higher, including their Big Gig plans for Chinese New Year.

I don't know if this was store specific or if all Freedom Mobile stores/kiosks will be offering this discount. Certainly doesn't show it on their website.

I am not a Freedom customer but I called my own provider to see if they would match the percentage discount if not the dollar amount for the plan (got my $60/10GB during the Black Friday craziness) but as of right now they haven't heard if they will be matching.

Thread Summary
25% off promotional codes are distributed by HQ and they are not a store by store decision. The discount only applies to the plan, not a Tab.

* You have to find a store that is currently offering that promo and sign up at that store within the promo period or until all the codes are used.
* FM has offered promo's at their booth at a convention or exhibition
* Promo's stay with the account for life
* They also occasionally announce in store promo's on Twitter.

You will see the promo applied on you receipt at the time of signing up and on your bill as "Plan Discount - MRC (<Period begin> to <Period end>) ($XX.00)"

Thanks, OP.

Do you know:

1. if the discount is forever, as long as you remain as an active customer?
2. For phone subsidy qualification, do they use the before-discount plan price?

I suspect many of us are considering a move from Public Mobile

Does this promotion work with getting a new phone from Freedom?

If so, would the big 50 be $37.50 + $15 (*24 months) for the iPhone 8? Might be worthwhile switch - especially if Koodo is requiring a Tab Small to redeem the $100 bill credit

Could someone tell me the meaning of Freedom. Seem more of an irony thing.

I just confirmed with rep that you can combine with their iPhone 8 promo, but the discount is only off the plan not the mytab boost associated with the iPhone 8.

Rep also said I needed the code, could you provide that?
With deals come great responsibility to post on RFD.

I live for upvotes 😝

This is an amazingly hot deal if you can combine with the iphone deal if not for the fact that Freedom/wind has terrible service. :( Why can't they offer that deal at another budget carrier that uses a big 3 network... :'(

Anyone know if any store in Toronto offering this? Need a new plan now that public is kicking me off the $40 plan. That G6 for $10/mth and iPhone 8 for 15/mth looks super hot.

wow. pretty good deal. I would be tempted to switch and try the service again (it's been almost 4 years since I tried wind last).... but I don't think I can ever give up my fido $30 6GB add-on plan. Currently pay $55 and the price includes a tab small subsidy.

If this is a Chinese New Year promo, then most likely it'd be available also at the other Chinese mall, Oakridge Centre!

It's for new connections only. Can't be applied to existing connections according to the rep on the phone. I find that ridiculous

If this deal is available in the GTA, I would like to jump over from PM as well.

Why don't someone call or go to the FM in the GTA and ask?

Remember to test out the service where your home, work and shopping place to see if FM is right for you.

They should just make it available to Public Mobile customers, I'm sure they will get quite a few.

Does anyone know any locations in Scarborough where I can get this? So 37.50+15 will get you iPhone 8+10gb data as I understand it? Was tempted for the 50+15 for the iPhone 8 but with this discount I might pull the trigger.

10 for $37.50 would certainly be something I'd be interested in. Don't need a fancy phone either.

Would any of their phones at 0$/mth or $5/mth be an upgrade over my S4. It's slow, or I'm slow. Either/or.

Best value after a quick look is the LG G6 at $10/m or iPhone 8 at $15/m.
