You could try using Koodo to get one for cheaper than MSRP. I don't think Koodo is running many discounts right now but it's still cheaper than MSRP if that's what freedom is charging you.

Just get a phone on a tab with Koodo and select a qualifying plan, then cancel right after and pay off the tab in full. You only get charged a pro-rated amount on your plan. So for example I see the A70 for $480 on a large tab. So if you were to get that and a large tab eligible plan and you cancelled right away you should be paying about $480 + $3 (pro-rated amount for your monthly plan, just my estimate) + $35 (activation fee) + tax.

That is how i got two S2 waaaaaay back.

I'll wait for a sale and then pounce. Like to get the A70 for under $300 if possible.

Bought the S5e this year so our electronic toy allocation is limited.

The 6s plus doesn't have Band 66 capabilities. On Freedom band 66 gives you the highest speeds.
I'm not familiar with iphones so can't comment.

Very often, i come on line and find people dissing Freedom from their experience years ago. Yes, they were a problem as Wind. Too much of a problem. But not now. If you know their area limitations, they are a decent telco.

We stuck it out with them and now, we are thrilled to be a customer. Where can you get service for $40 every six months and 5gb of data monthly? Or NA wide unlimited everything and 5gb data (unlimited 3g) for $35? Our yearly cell costs for two phones is....$560 all in.

BTW.....four year ago, i was talking to a big three telco executive and he told me selling data access was more profitable then drugs. He said it cost them about 5 to 7 cents a GB.

SUPRISE.....after decades of gouging, now we see huge data and unlimited allocations.

No love lost on them......

Are you pre paid or post paid?

Is it the plan with 1GB US roaming?

That's what they told me too. Hope I get it but even if I don't, I'm happy with the $30 I got for the service outage.
They offered me $5 off for 4 months - how do I check if activated? Or will the credit just appear on the billing statement?

Most probably at your next billing. I got $10 over 2 months.

Just in case......I hope you got a reference number to the offer.

Side note.....i was wondering why they did this extra 5GB. Sales logic would be they want people to get use to big data and the $witch to 5G more attractive.

I have on one of my lines big Gig and 10Gig, $65/month - I wonder if I would be getting the 5 GB extra

One of my lines since 2011 (Promo everywhere 50 8gb wit 1GB US roaming) and did not get this bonus. My brother in law got his big talk 65 last year around December and he got the 5gb bonus. Freedom is pissing me off

I called in on Friday and the Freedom CSR; while acknowledged that the 5GB Freebie does exist; he wouldn't transfer me to a supervisor or Loyalty, but gave me and my wife 2GB free. I took it, risking that I may never get that text message. I'm on Promo Everywhere 50 8GB+1GB now with +2GB bonus. Not baaad, but still would like to see 13GB total instead of 10.

Promo Everywhere 50 8GB+1GB Nationwide/US Roaming + 2GB Bonus + 35% off ($17.50) + BTS ($2.50) = $30/month
