I think I got shut down on phone call. Rep asked if I had received the sms..stupidly I said no. So I think u must receive the text first for them to apply it YMMV

And my 50 Canada promo everywhere plan does qualify for bonus. U don't need 60$ plan another YMMV

I took it, risking that I may never get that text message. I'm on Promo Everywhere 50 8GB+1GB now with +2GB bonus. Not baaad, but still would like to see 13GB total instead of 10.

Promo Everywhere 50 8GB+1GB Nationwide/US Roaming + 2GB Bonus + 35% off ($17.50) + BTS ($2.50) = $30/month
So it is possible to get something out from contacting them.
If I buy something that is not in deep discounted, my father will punish me; everyone will laugh at me. I will be the strange kid who doesn't fit in.

It's the grand fathered Wind Mobile Pay-Your-Way (Pay as you go) plan. A $40 recharge extends your service by 180 days with a balance carry-over. I have one of those lines too. It includes free incoming calls, free wind-to-wind (now freedom-to-freedom) calls and texting (I think). Additionally the max. charge per day is capped at $2. So once you hit that cap, you get unlimited talk, text or data that day at no additional charge.

In my case I have an add-on - for $5 / month I get unlimited North America texting.

Now back to the original topic about the 5GB data for free....

Just get a phone on a tab with Koodo and select a qualifying plan, then cancel right after and pay off the tab in full. You only get charged a pro-rated amount on your plan. So for example I see the A70 for $480 on a large tab. So if you were to get that and a large tab eligible plan and you cancelled right away you should be paying about $480 + $3 (pro-rated amount for your monthly plan, just my estimate) + $35 (activation fee) + tax.
Has anyone tried this ? Does it work ?

Is this with you calling in, or you got text?

Also I'm not clear about people with multi-line. Is this applied to every line on the account automatically or each line has to receive text?

Figured. Thanks.

It seems if you're on the older plans (before Big Gig and the Shaw takeover) then you'd need to be on postpaid to get any deals.
