[Freedom Mobile] Hot? Pixel 2 64GB $600 on $50 LTE plan with Freedom Mobile (2 yr term)

So Freedom Mobile is doing an "early Black Friday" deal...

On their $50 LTE plan, you can get a Pixel 2 for $25 x 24 months = $600.

The $50 plan gets you 10 GB for the first 24 months (6 GB thereafter). Unlimited text, but seems to be limited (or none?) on calls.

Certainly not their best plan, and perhaps there is a better one coming on BF itself, but the hardware price is pretty good if you were thinking about them anyway.

Just keep in mind that Freedom Mobile isn't the best carrier, and it definitely doesn't work for everyone. But if you are on it or were thinking about it, this is a pretty good deal.

Update: Pixel 2 64 GB and 128GB prices have been updated. 64GB is $20 x 24 and 128GB is $25 x 24. But in order to pay this price, you'll need to stick with them for two years. This deal isn't for people who want to buy and then cancel.

Pixel 2 64GB and 128GB will be $480 and $600, as long as you stick with Freedom Mobile for 2 years.

My friend joined freedom from Rogers due to a s8 promotion recently. There are certainly dead spots even in a Vancouver downtown office. Along the skytrain is also very spotty. I laugh at him all the time as he has an excellent phone but horrible reception.

If you get the phone and plan and cancel the next day, do you still pay just the $600? Or the full outright $900?

This is the important question. I imagine you'd be on the hook for the $600 plus the $50 monthly plan.

If you're in Vancouver Freedom isn't a good choice. Only place where Freedom works best is Toronto tbh, they're expanding but not upto mark.

Of course. When you cancel you need to pay the tab. But in this case the tab should be 25 x 24 months = $600 (plus pro-rated value of $50 plan and sim card)

This seems like a really good deal if true. I was going to pickup the Pixel 2 from Fido during the bonus $200 trade in deal last weekend but since that didn't work out this seems like a better deal.

Their service has actually got better and they seem to have more improvements on the horizon...I was very skeptical and while it's not ideal, the few times, the service drops for me is minimal and has been non intrusive to myself and I've used some 5 to 6 gig nearing the end of my current month.
I'm in the KW Ont. area and into my 3rd month with Freedom and have been pretty impressed so far all in all.
After reading so much negativity and some justified, I decided the best review I'd find is MY own review so for those interested I say try it, I went in knowing I'd have 2 weeks to return the phone and cancel the service if it was really bad, 3 months later and the service has been pretty solid.

Let me know in 2 years if they actually have signal. I'm in a 60 year old Calgary neighbourhood. Their maps shows full coverage. Reality = 0.

For anyone wondering, I just got an email telling me LTE has been confirmed for Freedom. I have to activate it for my wife’s phone.
