Sounds like you get an extra 25 GB to use once you've gone over your plan's data allowance and once its been used, its gone.

I had tried on them a few times around this week, no go.

I just activated on 129 plan anyways. But if 99 plan is available I will get it again.

Anyone have comments on freedom's network? Looking for an inexpensive service for a senior that doesn't use much data.

If for non mission critical matters, it is fine, especially with WiFi calling enabled. But be prepared for missing calls or unable to call when you need it the most.

That’s the regular Freedom $99 plan.
The Nationwide is $129.

Hoping they have the $99 (for 6 months) talk&text plus 2Gb data per month.
I got this last year. I want to add another line.
Works out to $16.50/month

Depends on where you live and do not go by the coverage map on their website. I literally signed up two days ago on the $20 prepaid and Markham gets zero reception past 16th Ave. Crossing Steeles into the Scarborough side the reception is great and downtown is great.

If you're going to test reception in your area go with the $15 post-paid plan since you can give yourself an out for a refund unlike the prepaid plan.

No, that’s a great regular Freedom zone plan.
The Nationwide plan of $129 is the one we’re waiting on to drop down to $99.

I've been using one for years. In Freedom areas it's pretty good. However there are blind spots. Especially on the highways and in some provinces like Quebec. However I have a grandfathered plan with Roaming data and free US calling. They don't include these anymore. If I were to get a new service that needs data, I probably wouldn't go freedom. But for voice and text you can't beat the $99 plan if you can get it. That plan has nationwide voice and text so works even in quebec.

The last time this is offered was in 2020 if I remember correctly, it is very unlikely it will ever be back given the inflation and how little money this can make for freedom.

but just $2.5 difference each month, a cup of coffee.
I saw somebody accidentally got it last month, but when I asked them like 5 times in the past few days, they all said not available.

Should the 99 nationwide ever comes back, I expect that to be a 2-3 days flash deal.

Got the $24/mo plan, ported from Fido. Took about 30 mins to do the process via WhatsApp.
Had to pay $34+taxes for the first month, since the $10 discount starts on the 2nd month to bring total to $24/mo.
Referral codes won't work since monthly plan is less than $30/mo.

Activated WiFi calling with no issue on my Samsung S9.

I think that $10 extra in the first month that you got charged is the activation fee. It mentions in their website that there is a $10 activation fee. Wondering if it can be waived in store.

I chatted with 2 different reps afterward to find out, and it is confirmed that the $10 is NOT the activation fee since they waived the activation fee.
The extra $10 / mo discount indeed started with the 2nd billing cycle in my case.
