Freedom Mobile's iMessage/Facetime activation issues

I am surprised this was not posted yet but this is becoming more and more common. Mostly happening to people that ported from other carriers to Freedom. Their iMessage would not activate until days after to weeks.
To some people this is very important like me, having multiple products I use all the time and text forwarding is very useful to me. At the moment, I am only using the iCloud email but on day 10 now, iMessage still does not activate. This is also happening for brand new activations. In my case, I had my iMessage working for months, then I restored my iPhone X for other issue and then there iMessage would not activate anymore (set up the phone as new phone, not restored from backup).

Totally not related to the phone because I have tried other sims from different carriers and they instantly activate (Facetime and iMessage). Gone through all steps that could possibly do and no dice. This has been escalated to network engineers at Freedom and level 2 technical support at Apple. Apple claimed this is Freedom's fault and that they have received many calls in regards to this. They mentioned that the UK activation server received the request and sent back to Freedom and somehow that is where the issue is occurring. Hopefully they fix this soon.

There have been numerous posts about this. It is a known issue but more recently it seemed the problem was only to a very select few. We ported four phones over to FM from Rogers and all of them activated iMessage and FaceTime within 2-5 mins. Seems to be a real problem in the past, but not as many people mentioning it anymore.

This is most definitely an "issue' at Freedom. Apple and Freedom are aware and "working on a resolution". For fun I will say that WIND's "duct tape" solution has been exposed with the volume of iPhone activations in the last couple months. I take solace that Shaw is behind Freedom now and they will do the right and proper thing.

No, they are both dependent on data.

You can go to Settings - Messages and check if iMessage has error in there activation or not.
