[Freedom] Where to get a discount SIM card or even a free one

Hi guys,

Do you know if the store will still give out a free SIM card?

Also do they still charge activation fee for prepaid?

Does freedom have a referral bonus?

Thanks,

Thanks,
1. I've never heard of a Freedom store giving out a free SIM card
2. Yes, $10 for prepaid activations
3. There seems to be a referral program, both referrer and referee get $25 credit

They were available for free (including shipping) on their website at one point.

Here is a website for a cheaper Freedom Sim card:
https://canadiancellsupplies.com/collections/sim-cards

Public mobile customers have been buying the store's SIM card with no issues.

You could phone around different stores to see whether they will offer a free SIM card when you activate with them. I know that Walmart mobile shops will sometimes offer free PM Sim card with in store activations. If a store wants your business, they might offer the free SIM card. Vendors do get a commission for activations. I do not believe there is a advertised promotion for free SIM card at the present time though.

There is a $10 activation fee for prepaid plans.
A one-time connection fee ($10 for Prepaid) will apply for each new line activation. (from their website)

Referral program offers $25 future credit for both parties.

Thank you. So there will $10+$10 upfront just to activate the prepaid account plus whatever the sim card cost? That sounds expensive lol

Can i sign up with $25 plan to get the bonus and then switch to the $99/ year plan later? How long do I need to stay on the $25 plan in order to get the bonus?

Most mobile companies in Canada charge for SIM cards and now charge activation fee. Freedom mobile fees are a bit cheaper than the big three.

If i remember correctly, it takes about 1-2 months for the referral credit to show up in the account

I went on the website, apparent they are $10 now. I have a bunch of these along with Fido and public mobile when they were free. It's always good to stock up when they're free. Winking Face

Some expire, some do not. T-Mobile (US) expires. In Canada, Roam Mobility expires. The company expired before the SIM cards that I have. lol

lmao lol Roam mobility is dead? I think I bought their sim card before too. But now I just use Tmo in the states.

Anyway, I bought from the canadiansupplies for $6.20. Now hope they can waive my activation fee or hopefully they can give me a referral code.

Yup, Roam is dead, roam-mobility-says-goodbye-2378770/

If you are using T-Mobile, why even bother with Freedom? T-Mobile roams in Canada for free.

No. My TMO doesn't include free roaming in Canada. My ATT used to have a worldwide roaming with unlimited data.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestion to check online. I chatted with the online CSR and he waived the $10 fee for me.

Maybe worth a try if anyone wants to get a Freedom SIM card.

Thanks,
You can chat with freedom to get free sim. There is no activation fee to activate Pre-Paid

Chat with Freedom and tell them you want to activate pre-paid. They will sent you a blank sim card and you'll have to come back to chat to activate the sim card I was able to do that last week and got a free sim card and I activated the pre-paid plan I wanted through chat once I got my sim card for my niece
