But don't these expire after a year or something? What happen when it expires and you have it on file and they charge you?
If freedompop is trying to charge you most likely you don't want that transaction to go trough :)

Freedom mobile got back to me finally and refunded the $27.98 that they charged me. They keep saying that credit card reported it as fraud which is funny because the charges go through. IF it was fraud the charges would be rejected so I'm not sure what is the issue. Could it be that it is connected to my email address and that I don't have a US address connected with my PayPal?

I used my PayPal account and disabled the association with FreeDomPOP.

Darn, I just joined NT to make use of a virtual credit card, now there's no reason for me to use them.

I think they're just no longer issuing credits, like loans. Otherwise everything will still be the same as it has been. That's what I took from that message.

I wasn't exactly right, here's a webpage describing what credits are
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/ntrust-th ... 00879.html
Ok, got it. I see so they were basically giving people free money for a while, probably to get more people using it.

Now that I see it though, if you use the NT credit card, you pay 1.9% to load it, so you pay this every time. I think I will just look for an alternative prepaid card.

Edit: Just looked through the prepaid card thread, seems that most are even more expensive, ie pay several dollars upfront to get something like a $25 card. Many others have monthly fees, these aren't worth it for me, so I guess the NT card isn't so bad after all, especially for small amount and infrequent usage.

Going to use my freedompop SIM cards for the first time next week. Just pop it in my iPhone and it'll just work automatically right ?

Also notice the second SIM card I accidentally associated with my account also shows 700mb data now too?

If you go to Settings->General->About, the phone will attempt to download the appropriate carrier settings for the network sim you have inserted.

Get the SIM sent to a US address provided by mymallbox, they can forward to you from there. I ordered on the 21st or 22nd I think, and it was marked as delivered by FedEx on the 28th (around 4:30 pm). Today (30th) I got the notification from MMB so I got them to airmail USPS it here, cheapest option, was $2.27USD.
