I don't return fruit. Fruit is a gamble. I know that going in.

I am surprised some grocery stores give refunds on produce. Then again, I never return my items even if it went bad. Once i bought Nutella at Loblaws and when i got home the cap seal was opened (likely a clerk dropped it and it popped open inside) under the lid. Ended up tossing it.

i rarely buy watermelon, cantaloupe or Papaya from Freshco, most of the times they are not riped. Sobeys is the best bet for many fruits. Sobeys has 15 lb watermelon for $4.99 this week.

Which location did you go to, to do your refund? That is a first for me to hear that they give refunds on cut fruit.
...Location: GTA North

I guess Sobeys take the best ones and give inferior ones to Freshco

Sometimes you cannot have quality and quantity. I think in lower end stores its the quantity that gets ppl in and who cares about the taste or ripeness. $2.44 for the whole thing is what ppl see.
