for the cat food, the recipes use all or mix of peas, potatoes, rice and barley as fillers

Just a heads up to everyone - I was having the same error issue as well. I tried changing all the fields with no luck until I changed the email address I used. For some reason the form wouldn't take my Yahoo email but Gmail worked!

Thanks OP

A nice treat to their regular food.

Cheers!
Thread started in 2016 - 1927 fully gutted and renovated 2 storey detached home in the big T.O. - small projects still in progress.

RFD priceless!

Fromms Gold is implicated in dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) from what I've been reading, so now I have to check that the ingredients do not include legumes/peas. The study is not conclusive from what I've been reading so it's a dilemma on whether to continue feeding from Fromms (my dog seems to like the variety). For dog owners who feed Fromms, would avoiding grain-free/legume Fromms be a good enough solution? Or mix pet food brands that are not included in the DCM list?

I feed my boy from the grain-free lines of Fromm, my vet had once advised me to add Taurine supplements into his food. Then we looked closely at a few of the ones (from what I recall mainly dark meat lines) have higher Taurine content and thus would veer away from the DCM fear. Again because the study is still ongoing, no one really knows the correlation of the 2, but the research was sparked due to more frequent cases of DCM and I guess the more recent crazes for grain-free foods?

Not sure how helpful this is, but my boy is 8.5 now, golden retriever and very healthy =)

Fromm Gold doesn't contain peas or lentils...maybe they've changed the formula?

Thanks OP, we feed our cats exclusively Fromm dried food (well, mostly because they don’t really like other ones), so some additional free food is a nice treat!
