Funny but Drastic consequence on low memory while gaming
Take this post for what you will but my system was really low on hard drive space and windows 10 kept bugging me about low disk space. I had about 100mb at any given time on my install drive.
So I fire up my game which is a pretty low demand title (day of infamy) and I start experiencing weird things like movements being halted. I would try to move and it stutters and halts completely. Environmental interactions are going but my character loses mobility. I also type in chat but no text is showing up like it’s phantom letters being typed out.
Had to jump back to the desktop and cleaned out all of my download folders. Went back into that game and everything was back to normal.
How prevalent is cache memory? I have 16gb of memory which I assume ran out or was low itself so it reverted to the HD’s cache for memory?
In all my years of using a computer I have never witnessed such a bizarre thing happening. I was expecting the game to freeze outright and crash not have my character be restricted in simple things like movement while sounds and other elements were bustling around.
