OP, did you accidentally give out your exact house location? If so edit it.

Too bad most cable packages require you to use their router... I cant stand having to re-set my 2wire every few months(and its coverage is pathetic, giving i'm in a small bungalow and it still manages to drop its signal if i'm in a corner room in the house)
I guess you could disable its wifi and use your own, but it seems kind of wasteful having 2 units that do the exact same thing.

Just use it in Bridge mode and use your own router. Its a modem with WiFi built in for people who don't know how to configure networks. The ones that do have their own.

Spoke to someone at Bestbuy about this, said the R7000 is not on their list of qualifying routers probably because it's online only.

Bought the 810l today from dlink for 60 bucks -20. 40 bucks is a good price for a router if it work well. 802.11 ac seem non usable for the moment, maybe in 2-3 years, this featyre will be usefull. Can't price match with amazon.ca who sell it for 10 less. I traded an old ethernet switch that i bought for 15 bucks so not bad.

The reviews on amazon.com are for 3 different models. So i checked the first 7 pages of 1 star reviews and this model didn't seem problematic. Anyway, with the shop of the future, you have one month of testing.

Please note, if you stream or tranfert a lot of data with ethernet ports, get another model because there is no gigabit capability.

D-Link Extreme Range Wireless AC1200 Dual Band Gigabit Router

Costco online has the DIR-860L for $85.99 shipped - Should be around $69.99 to $79.99 in store? If so I think that is the best deal going, forget the $20.00 savings at futureshop for the identical DIR-850L that is $99.99 - $20.00
