If you're not picky and don't mind getting last year's model, try Trail's clearance centre on Annacis Island. All item on sale are posted here ( http://www.trailappliances.com/bc/produ ... /clearance ) so you can compare if it's a good deal or not. Most of them are Floor models or customer returns (mostly the I didn't want it) and it'll say on website.

It's updated at the beginning of the month, so it'll be updated in the next week or so for march.

They're offering the same deal until 10AM EST today as part of their After Hours Sale. I picked up the Bosch 800 Series wall/speed oven combo and induction cooktop. Both ended up being less than what they go for in the US on sale. Now to see if the local guys are willing to do better.

I have been talking to the main sales reps at Trail Appliances and they have been super helpful (I recommend them above & beyond any other big box retailer) HOWEVER, I require an apartment sized front loading machine so I have tight parameters to work with here. It has been hard getting something I need - while getting it to suit the budget. Very stressful to say the least

We stopped by a local FutureShop last night (after I posted here) and a FS rep was willing to negotiate somewhat... but then it spiraled out of control with the FS rep getting all flustered and calling us rude for trying to negotiate.

So back to the drawing board. I just cannot justify paying almost $950-$1,000 for a front loader when top loaders are half that price. Never mind the fact that front loaders are more prone to malfunctioning & repairs due to having "fuzzy logic" panels and drums that constantly become misaligned. Made to fail, essentially.

What makes matters even worse is that some warehouse was discreetly selling front loaders for bargain basement prices on Craigslist but I missed my opportunity there by a month :-(

I hate shopping for major appliances.
Price is always changing and you are constantly toyed with when you enter the store.

Just an FYI. I bought a front load washing machine from Future Shop thanks to a sales rep how came down further on the sale price. So we got a nice bargain on a well reviewed washing machine.

If anyone wants the details, PM me and I can provide make/model, the final price, and name of the sales rep who gave us the deal.

We have waited since Aug of 2014... so now was the time to buy. But if I had a choice... I would have bought from Trail appliances in Annacis Island loooong time ago due to how hard they work to find what you need. Sadly, they never had a machine in the size specs we needed.
