The bundle is usually 2 controllers extra, a controller and a game or a controller and a headset or a controller and a controller stand. Usually $800+

Yeah for the newbies, what's the catch buying a "bundle" from Gamestop imply?

Is it only you can't buy a bare bones console and can only buy a bundle that includes a game or 2?

Just show them the website. It clearly says the item doesn’t need to be in stock at the time of trade

What do you mean upon the inventory of PS5?

You can ONLY trade in your PS4 if they have a PS5 on hand? You can't just wait on the credit until later in 2022?

The GameStop staff in their area are just being aholes. The consoles don’t need to be in stock at the time of trade.

When I traded in last week for a prepaid visa, they checked the console if it worked. They also wanted the power cable + an official Sony PS4 controller.

I did, and both locations said no, they don't. and even they themselves agreed the promotion was meaningless. I wish I just encountered someone were not familiar with the promo, but let's see what will happened later.

I called a few stores and got different answers from each. I don't think some of the workers know of the promo yet.

1. Trade in PS4 and we have a waiting list for future PS5.
2. Trade in PS4 but no waiting list and you will have to call us to see when we get stock.
3. Can't do the promo because we don't have any PS5 in stock.

Check your store and see what they say.

exactly, even the fine prints on the website writes you can wait. Neither store I called in didn't have a waiting list,

For example, trading in a PS4 Slim 1TB = $350. If the PS5 bundle = $800, then it's $800 - $350 = $450 + tax (ie. $58.5) = $508.50 NOT $450 + tax on $800 (ie. $104) = $554.

In other words, TIV of PS4 Slim 1TB is actually $395.50
PS4 Pro 1TB = $508.50
PS4 Slim 500GB = $372.90
PS4 OG 500GB = $339

exactly, but only when trade-ins goes towards the item directly. not if you trade-ins for store credit, and then spend store credit on an item. that's why people usually put trade in value on a pre-order, then change the pre-order to something they want later. Not sure how this promotion works though, as the trade in is specifically towards PS5, and it is very likely wont be in stock at the time. so not sure if they issue store credit or something.

Do they just check to see if it works or do they check also check the SKU? I have a Japanese PS4 Slim I want to try to trade in.
