it's a Hideo Kojima game and it's aimed at a very specific audience I don't think the game was that bad but was not for made everyone for sure...

I feel safe calling it a Masterpiece. (Of course, that's subjective.....I just thought the game was really good in many ways. If you read a summary of "What you do in the game", I would agree that it has no right being fun, but it inexplicably is.)
However, I played the Directors Cut which is a $15 upgrade on this version - That likely makes a decent difference, and there is one part in particular where I would say it certainly does.
