Gardening for newbie

Hello. We recently moved into a house with small backyard and I know nothing about gardening (lived at the condo for past few years...was never exposed to green other than parks..).

Any tips or things I need to be aware of? Also unfortunately my backyard is like 90 percent weed (clover, crabgrass, dandelion) so I dont know what to do.

Appreciate your help !

Gardening Advice ...

What are we talking here ?

You want advice on a lawn, shrubs, trees, flowers, or veggies

Anything you truly are interested in in particular ... right now your question is pretty vague

Also pics might be helpful if you really are a novice ... don’t know where to start

Sorry, as I really do not understand anything about "grass" in general.

I just want to start with having nice normal grass backyard. Currently, I got too many weeds so I need something to manage this problem.

No point in starting a new thread.

Besides ... gardening is one thing ... lawn care is another thing. They are different.

Gardening is the practice of growing and cultivating plants as part of horticulture. In gardens, ornamental plants are often grown for their flowers, foliage, or overall appearance; useful plants, such as root vegetables, leaf vegetables, fruits, and herbs, are grown for consumption, for use as dyes, or for medicinal or cosmetic use. Gardening is considered by many people to be a relaxing activity.

Wanting "normal grass" is lawn care.
