Gas price in Vaughan always lower?

I notice something recently.

I live in Richmond Hill. Usually seeing gas price at Richmond Hill, Markham, North York, Scarbaough, Toronto, all the same.
BUT when I drive over to Vaughan, they are always like 4c lower.

e.g. 101.9 in Richmond Hill, Vaughan would be 97.9. Is not one gas station, almost all of them.

Anyone know why?

The Vaughan Mills area is consistently cheaper I've noticed. My theory is the presence of a couple of independents which help push the price down.

I think it's Costco. London and Barrie are around .88 now and they both have Costco stations. Kitchen has no Costco station, only 40 minutes from London and is .96 here

Major Mac is far enough away from Costco and St Cath does not have one.

Gas is always 4-6 cents cheaper along Major MacKenzie from Dufferin to Jane.

I believe the driver is the Macs store/gas bar at McNaughton. This station was the first in the area and for years was 5 cents cheaper. When the majors built their outlets, they quickly realized they needed to match Macs or the pumps were vacant.

if you are in Scarborough, the Petro and Esso at Markham and Sheppard is $0.30 lower.

The last few months, the gas prices in this area are much closer to the GTA average. Maybe 1-2 cents difference now. Does anyone know why?
