******** Dual-Lens Dashcam $39USD

Price:
39
Pros:
Dual camera! The 2nd camera can function as a rear-view camera (activating when you go in reverse), or you can just point it at the driver and have both cameras always record picture-in-picture
Quality seems ok, probably on par with G1W* (which is never more than $5 cheaper than this) -- same claimed 1080p resolution, 140 degree FOV (which is pretty good -- most dash cams are 120 degrees or less)
All the other features are standard: auto startup/shutdown, g-force/vibration activation, auto-overwrite oldest/loop recording, IR nightvision etc
Lowest price I've seen it

Dome G30B 2.7 inch H.264 1080P
$39 at the time of this writing, likely a limited time offer (was $41 a few months earlier but $59 yesterday): http://www.********.com/car-dvr/pp_72220.html

Would be awesome if it could record each camera to a separate file, but it looks like it can only do picture-in-picture within the same file (need confirmation)

Comes with charger but for a clean install (without having to splice into any cables) grab a 12V-5V stepdown converter like this: $2 http://www.ebay.ca/itm/321755418949
And a fuse tap like this: $1 http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1X-Add-A-Circuit ... 32&vxp=mtr <-- confirm that this works with your car, fuse types vary
Oh and don't forget a 32GB microsd card, can be had on sale from ncix/newegg etc for around as $9-$12. Camera *might* support larger SD cards if formatted manually (need confirmation)

No, especially since you don't specify a budget.

this seems abnormally cheap, no? I haven't done too much research on these dashcams, but have wanted to get one for some time now. In my 'limited' knowledge I understand the blackview to be near the top end of things (despite some issues with RFD/groupbuy stuff in the past). How would a camera like this compare to blackview? The fact that it's a dual cam at this price range is amazing enough, even moreso with vibration detection, auto startup, etc.

Yes. No. Maybe? Do you need the 2nd camera? Quality is pretty much the same

For those wondering, that reverse cam is your standard $9 ebay special. I have been looking at those myself so I recognize it :p

That makes it a $30 dash cam, which is pretty darn cheap even for a china one.. Only worth it if the quality is decent though

how is the rear camera installed? how does the rear cam know when you reverse and how does it coordinate with the main cam?

I believe it has a separate power connector. When power is applied to the secondary camera, the main LCD switches to "Reverse" mode (configurable).
