Gees Lucky Mobile has best deals

Last week Public Mobile had a deal where you get extra data for a limited time to keep up with Lucky. I noticed that deal is gone so it seems Lucky is the best.

I'm thinking of changing my wife from the $40 6 gig deal to the $40 5g deal at Lucky.

I'm doing this because she calls the US every now and again at 50/c a minute and that adds up.

The data add ons with Lucky are cheap also.

Anybody else on Lucky?

Is the 3g just LTE light like at Public?

Do they actually have a call centre?

I don't know what you're paying now but if it's just because of calling the US then you might consider:
1. Setup a Google Voice number and/or Hangouts/(Hangouts Dialer on Android) and get free calling North America off wifi or mobile data.
2. Rebtel app for free calls out to US. Caller ID shows your number.
3. If you're with PM then buy the 400 minutes International Long Distance add-on for $15 (includes US and several other countries) so you're bringing cost down to $0.0375/minute.

Yeah I setup a few older relatives with PM and bought the 400 minutes (should last them over a year) after trying GV and other calling apps. But one of them is making FaceTime work which is a pleasant surprise.

I'm confused. How is it costing 50 cents a minute to call the US when PM's US calling add-ons max out at 4 cents a minute? Oh wait - re-reading it sounds like you were thinking of going to Public but aren't now that their deal is gone.

But that aside, yes, Lucky is just capped LTE the same as Public Mobile. And they do indeed have a call centre.

Public Mobile has reinstated the $40/5GB deal. This is an option now. US calling addon is $8 for 200 minutes or $15 for 400 minutes on non expiring usage.
