Approximately equivalent to 40X points promotions, since they make that as confusing as possible

no BC :(
otherwise this would be prefect to combine with the CT credit card promotion.

Wait until tonight when CT's BC flyer drops, dates will likely be Apr 02 to Apr 08.

As mentioned in OP, I'll update the thread when those flyers drop. :)

But do you have to wait 5 weeks to get the CT money like other 40x promotions?

Such a lame policy that prevents one from using ‘rewards ‘ for so long.

Worse, fine print posted above says 10 weeks.

Not quite as you don't pay taxes on gift cards. To add to the confusion:

The 40x the points is worth about 33X the points in Ontario after taxes (13% HST), where as this is closer to an actual 40x the points. Or you want to normalize to the regular 40X, this is more like 50X.

IMO this is a good deal regardless.

Whelp, just when I thought I had it figured out. Thanks for the clarification

Just a reminder that the Triangle MC does not earn the 10x (4%) back in CT Money for giftcard purchases, so you are better off using another CC and the actual Triangle Rewards card.

Yikes! Who at CT thought this was a smart policy? Wouldn't you want customers to use the rewards and possibly spend more at your store?
It's not very often you can put off buying something for 10 weeks in order to use the reward.
This would make me go look at Home Depot or Lowes.

I purchased two lots the last time these gift cards were on-sale. The one reward was automatically credited to my account after 8 weeks but the other was not. It took about 12 weeks to finally get the points credited to my account.
