Getting a better deal on self storage

I managed to to extricate myself from my previous storage but because of the amount of things I have, I find myself using self-storage again.

I need it for the next few months.

They had a promotional rate for 3 months but I'm paying about $120 a month. Any tips on getting a better rate for the same unit ? Or move to another place with a promotion?

If someone else has a promotion, jump on that if it’s a better deal going forward. I’ve never heard of anyone getting a retention offer to stay in the same storage unit. “Don’t want to pay what you’ve been paying? Buh-bye.”

Getting rid of stuff so you don’t need storage will of course save you the most money but I realize for most people that is easier said than done.

Just price out your neighbourhood. Closest to you is going to work best and probably increase your "savings"

I did Storage Mart, advertised as Buy 2 Months get 1 free, but it's actually first month free on most rentals. Did that and only rented 2 months.
