Getting started with cryptocurrencies

What’s the best way to invest in some of these altcoins (SOL, DOT, etc) while earning cash back, CC points, etc. and keeping transaction/exchange fees low?

Most coins/tokens you can just buy and stake to get a %. Many many different apps (crypto.com, Coinbase, bitbuy, kraken, shake-pay, etc.)... Hell even Wealthsimple has them if you don't want to deal with wallets. Pm me if you need referrals they usually have signup bonuses like deposit $100 get $20 free type of thing.

Keeping fees low depends on what you're buying and what you're doing with it and where you want to store it.

Generally you're not gonna earn any cashback or CC points buying crypto. Most Canadian banks actively block any crypto transactions on their debit or credit cards. Most common way to deposit is with email transfers.

I'd suggest doing more research before investing in random alt-coins. Assume anyone telling you buy something is just shilling what they hold.

Celcius and Blockfi are good too, you can get high interest especially on Stablecoins.

Wouldn’t it be preferentially to hold crypto in a wallet as opposed to on an exchange?

Suppose I want to buy something like Polkadot and store + stake with a wallet (assuming that’s the most secure/optimal way to store crypto - any opinions?), how do I keep cumulative fees low in this situation?

Also keep in mind that Wealthsimple does not sell you real coins, not your keys, not your coins!
