I wonder how many packages the photographer had to go through to find one with so little fat.

They probably put Kirkland or Schneider's bacon in the Carver packaging.

What happened to a good ole' pound (454g) of bacon? All these crazy sizes are designed to confuse and give you less for more money.

In my experience it will all be massed conveniently right behind the label.

I haven't seen a pound (454g) of bacon in, what, 2 or 3 decades?

Almost all of these crazy low prices, like door crashers on Black Friday, are just intended to get you in the store. Once you're in the store you buy other stuff while you're there, they make money on the other stuff, plus they get you used to coming to their store and maybe gain a repeat customer. These crazy promos are often at the back of the store for that reason so you run the gauntlet of high-margin items on the way there and back.

That, plus a little advertising where people think 'wow, this store sells groceries and they're cheap!' makes it all make sense to me.

Doesn't mean Giant Tiger isn't a great place to shop, I honestly don't know as I haven't gone in one in years, but when these single item cheap grocery prices get posted I don't downvote because they are a deal but there is a game being played

Carvers choice is terrible. Always has been and still is. The pound or so of bacon still exist but I only see it with PC and Kirkland brands - 500g a pack.

You need a Costco membership then.

I'd have to be pretty desperate for bacon to buy Carver's Choice.

Back to prepandemic prices, got up to $27 for a 4 pack of these (2kg) but now back to $18.

You got me there, but I'll be glad to take the 6g out of all packages and fix that for free.
