It is a proper GC they take it off the rack and scan it with the purchase. Note that my local Tiger did not even know about the promo for some reason..... took a while but got a manager to figure it out.

Good for those who are churning Amex, as AX is not widely accepted....

Their system allows. It is up to each store or cashier to make their policy. My local 7-11 does allow.sneak_around wrote: ↑ Not sure if this is isolated but at 7/11 you can not buy Vanilla cards with credit

Good news ... especially if it's like that Canada Wide now.Howitzer1 wrote: ↑ GT counts as grocery on my Scotia Visa. Last year though it did not... so something got changed - likely the merchant code?
I know it doesn't answer your question directly about TD Visa, but if I'm right that it was a merchant code change by GT then it should count as grocery for you too.
In the past I know for sure GT wasn't a grocery merchant (I tested it).
I have infinite cash back Visas for Scotiabank, TD and CIBC ... just called all 3 of them ... and none of them know nothing about this, lol ...
The best would be to try on my own ... and find out for sure.
Meanwhile when I tried Google about it -- I see that GT is coming out with they own Loyalty program .. GT VIP ... it's only available in Ontario for now .. but should go nation-wide some time next year ... They have an app for it etc ...
Here is some info about it:
