Gift Cards that can be used in both US and Canada?

Need to do some last minute shopping for friends in US. Do you know of any Restaurants or Store gift cards I can purchase in Vancouver Canada that can be used in both United States and Canada?

So far I only know of Starbucks, Whole Food Market... any others? Maybe Costco too? Thanks!

Home Depot (at least a US card worked in CA.) I'd imagine Wal-Mart works cross-border.

And then, of course, there's Timmies ;)

Depending on where you are, you could also pop across the border and buy them there. I was in Blaine this evening and saw a whole wall of GCs at the Cost Cutter. That may be more variety for you.

Walmart is NOT international. Canadian and U.S. cards can only be used in their respective countries. > :(

Can confirm Costco works. Downside is that it is a gamble with exchange rates.

I would go for Amazon.COM GCs. That way you know how much they will get.

I know you cloud just check the balance of the gift card if your going to keep it or in that case sometimes you could buy a new gift card after scratching off the back to check the balance to you see What I mean!

Last time I tried to use a Starbucks GC in Europe it was a no-go. That was 2 or 3 years ago so it may have changed by now.

Abercrombie works, sort of. You have to email customer service and request that they send an equivalent amount in the other country's currency. They sent me, by mail, an amount that is pretty damn close to spot exchange rate.
