[Golf Town] Cobra King F7 4H 5-PW Combo Iron Golf Clubs (RH) - $299 (57% off)

Perhaps not quite as scorching hot as the golf clubs that used to be available in the SportChek thread a week or two back, but still a pretty good discount for those who are in need for some clubs and missed out. Only right handed available! This is a part of their current daily deal and only valid until stock runs out or the deal expires (20 hours left as of time posted).

For comparison the newer F8/F9 combo sets are $650 and $799 respectively.

Really good price. How would these compare to my set of callaway x20's?

You Cally's are 12 yrs old tech (came out in 2008 give or take). If you hit them well and the shaft, lie, etc fit your swing, they fit your swing. The Cobra might be newer tech but it may not match your swing. You have to hit em to know. If you buy and don't like, you can probably flip them for what you paid if you don't kill em or hack em up.

TBH these clubs are meant for beginner / casual golfers. People in this class should probably use regular vs stiff shaft, much more forgiving

Ditto. Would've liked to try a ONE LENGTH set actually.

Very tempting to replace my Nike's which are about 10 years old, plus orange is my favourite colour and would match my PUMA golf bag haha

In the SportChek clearance thread they had $40 drivers, hybrids, woods, and $150 iron sets (TaylorMade Aeroburner and Callaway X Series), I think those are a couple years older than these Cobra F7's (2017 if I recall).

Anyone also pick up the Powerbilt TPX X One Ti Driver from Sport Chek? One review only, which is bad... just wondering if it's as bad as that review or serviceable enough of a club.

Personally, I doubt it's much of an upgrade if at all. X20s were a very good and forgiving set. I don't think you'll see any improvement in forgiveness or distance... It's hard to compare between brands, but I would consider your X20s at its time to be a higher end model compared to this Cobra set relative to its market placement.

I also assume you already are hitting hybrids over long irons.. but if you can hit your long irons well.. damn.. good for you!
