Good Deal Or Wait? Costco Austin Contemporary Grey Top Grain Leather Reclining Sectional

Good Deal Or Wait?

Costco Austin Contemporary $2,599.99 https://www.costco.ca/austin-contempora ... langId=-24

Costco Pista Contemporary $2999.99 https://www.costco.ca/pista-contemporar ... 62381.html

The Austin Contemporary weighs 302 pounds. That’s the same weight as the Costco Pista Contemporary. Are these two the same?

The Austin Contemporary's dimensions are 90.1 in. × 117.7 in. × 31.1 in. but the Pista Contemporary's dimensions are 112.5 in. × 86 in. × 31 in. That seems impossible given they are both the same weight, plus the photos and description appear to show they have the same specs (except for the dimensions).

Another strange thing is that both units are listed as grey, but the Austin Contemporary's photo shows as dark brown.

I’m confused, what do you guys & gals think?

Call the manufacture and order a swatch. Looks like the Pista is power recline while the Austin is manual, could be wrong but contact the manufacturer.

Hello 2000teamti,

1. Yes, I could call the manufacturer and order a swatch, but Costco has a generous return policy, and all I would need to do is have a quick look when the delivery truck arrives.

2. If it’s true that the Pista is power recline whereas the Austin is manual, then the Costco website is incorrect. I am not sure where you are sourcing your information from, given you say the Austin is manual.

3. Also do you not find it odd that the Austin and Pista have rather different dimensions but are identical in weight?

4. Also do you not find it odd that both units are listed as grey, but the Austin Contemporary's photo shows as dark brown?

Most to the point is whether it is a good deal, and secondly the mentioned peculiarities. In any case I would trust Costco's support and not the manufacturer, especially given it is of Chinese origin, and thus would likely be prone to communication errors and time delays, assuming you could get the right person at all.

They both appear to be power recline, i could see a couple diff - Pista has top grain leather through out, austin has bonded leather on the outside area. Pista has individual backrests and headrests on the shorter side of the sectional.

I still think you should order a swatch first rather than returning the sofa in case you dont like it. And i wouldn't just dismiss the possibility of the manufacturer being helpful, in this case.

Regarding a deal possibilty - i have seen costco have buy more and save more deals on furnitute multiple times this year. Austin is a Hot buy item currently, not sure if a deal would come on it, but there may be one on Pista. Check Costco connection to see if there is one this month.
