[Google.com] Youtube Premium migrate from YT Music / GPM - save $3-4 per month YMMV

Deal Link:
Retailer:
Google.com
More offers from Google.com
Edit: starting to look like this offer is available only for current YT Music Premium / Google Play Music subscribers, no deal to switch from single user to family plan:
GPM / YT Music Premium -> YT Premium: $7.99/m reg $11.99/m
GPM Family / YT Music Premium Family -> YT Premium Family $14.99/m reg $17.99/m

I just happened to be checking my account settings, I had recently switched from Google Play Music Family to Youtube Music Premium Family for 14.99/m, and Youtube Premium Family at the time was 17.99/m - showed up in my settings as an offer, so selected it. Didn't say anything about limited time offer, so not sure if it's only for those who transferred from GPM or available to anyone. Regular price shows up everywhere else at $17.99/m.

Recently read that they're going to start ramping up ads on YT, seems like a no brainer to me.

I'd pay $3 to $5 just to get rid of the shitty ads for my parents tv. Or I should get my brain in gear and spend $100 an make a pihole, but not sure 100% if it would block all ads.

I would say it's YMMV because it doesn't give me the offer.

I don't use youtube often, but the ads are becoming annoying. Might be worth the extra $3.

I've got pi-hole setup, it won't block in-video ads. There's additional scripts and stuff out there but are troublesome and only sometimes work. AdBlock Plus blocks in-video ads but only works on desktop.

Thanks, wasn't sure if it was open to all. Updated YMMV in title.

Last year there was a thread on how to sign up in India which has been working great for me. Includes YT Music Premium too. Family plan works out to about $3.80 a month.

I'm not sure I follow the numbers. No $11.99 for me, just those 2 upgrade options for a family
YT Music Family Membership - CA$14.99/month
YT Premium Family Membership - CA$17.99/month

I think I still pay the same $14.99 for family Spotify so no incentive to change.
(not to mention that kids share on Instagram what they listen on Spotify and the other way around, click on Insta shared from others and that takes them back to Spotify... I don't think Google has figured out that one yet)

I would suggest that if you dont mind putting a little bit of work you can get this premium service as low as $6 for a family plan relatively easy by using and india or philippines account...

Thanks OP!
I moved from GPM Family to Youtube Music Family a couple months ago. I followed your instructions and I have an offer for Youtube Premium Family at 14.99$/month (same as Youtube Music Family).

If I had to guess, looks like it may be for those who moved to YT Music Premium from GPM. Will have to wait and see if it shows up for more people.

If all you care about is ad blocking you can use smartyoutubetv on a fire stick or something else.

You can use an Argentinian VPN, create a new billing profile with a fake address and buy YT premium for less than 3 bucks a month..

If you don't like ads, you can always use addon such as uBlock to block unwanted ads. This includes ads within the videos.

Added:
Just be mindful that some add-ons will track/spy your internet activities..some might even use your cpu resources for bitcoin mining etc. Make sure to review the addon.

My strategy is to use Firefox w add-ons and only surf general web. Use Chrome with NO addons for important stuffs such as purchasing /banking etc.

Too much for me. It's hard to even justify 79 rupees.
