Ordered! Been waiting a while to get this for my brother. Awesome price for a mid-range phone with an amazing camera.

Have a 3a right now and I love it, so I'll keep this in mind if I want to get a bit of an upgrade in the future. Looks real nice for the price.

The "A" series of the Pixels are so much more reasonable in terms of price compared to their flagships. The price is basically in line with the exchange rate as well. 128GB standard storage size is great too.

I'll still wait a bit to see how the hardware holds up on these. The Pixels always have some sort of hardware defect. I definitely wouldn't mind going back to the Pixel software experience eventually.

They should have just released the specs for the 4A 5G and Pixel 5 too. Otherwise, people are just going to wait and see what those are going to be like.

I just ordered mine and I'll be selling my pixel 4. I really like the 4 but I want a fingerprint sensor so I'll likely be able to sell mine for more than the 4a costs.

Just speculation so far: Google officially teases Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5, starting at USD$499 and coming this fall.

I don't see 5G becoming ubiquitous (carriers and devices, apps, etc.) in the next couple of years so I'm in no hurry to get it in a phone. Besides by the time it becomes ubiquitous it's likely there will be tweaks and improvements. The earliest phones to support 5G may be unable to exploit all of its features. Being first on your block has its price, both monetarily and functionally.

I love my Pixel 3a SO much! Can't wait to see it in person. Though this is pretty tempting, I usually upgrade every other generation or 2 generations. Plus I got it on BF for $399 CAD.

Man that's a great price. I've been thinking about upgrading to this or the iPhone SE. The $190 price difference is a big one.

Hard to decide between the two.

Wow delivery dates vary... Sept 14 latest for Canada and Aug 21 in USA.

Might have cheaper sales tax in the US as well.

Decisions..

Trying to hold out for a black Friday deal. So glad to see 128gb base storage.
Maybe the Nord if it comes in cheaper.
Good to see good mid-range phones under $500 with proper band support for lte.

Do we get 10% credit back because of the Google One subscription then?

Will be curious how much the 5G variant of the 4a's cost.

Using a Pixel 3 for the last year and a half, will probably continue using it for minimum a year (assuming battery holds up; currently OK but has weakened somewhat compared to originally). Comparing the 4a with the 3, looks like the chip is better on Pixel 3 but everything else is a bit better on the 4a?

Pre ordered. Mid sept seems nuts. Might end up getting something else in the 400-500 range before then if a deal pops up.

$479 seems a very good price. Also I can get a $180 credit for my pixel 3a xl....... I use about 80% of the storage currently. I am sure if I delete some apps I can get it down to 70%.

Just $180 (plus possible taxes) is not worth to trade-in your pixel 3 XL.

Could sell your phone for at least $350 I think. And that's the low end.

If the value is only $180 I'd keep the phone as a spare. The Moto phone that I plugged into Google's trade-in page came up at $40. That's for a fully functional phone. It's worth a lot more than that to me as a spare that I can also use to test possibly dodgy apps and do other tests where it's easy to do a factory reset if anything goes awry.

I have the Pixel 3a, that I bought during a BlackFriday sale. I believe it came out May 2019, so I think it will receive security updates until May 2022. (3 yrs.)
I'll reassess at that point.

Still content with it and have only used about 40% storage, so I'm ok in that department.
I think a good chunk of that storage is offline maps :)

$479 for the Pixel 4a seems like a 'fair' starting price.
