Got 13 checks on my G test and still passed?

I was reading this thread and saw that anything over 20 points lost is a fail? I counted 13 checks on the examiner sheet which I requested, (26 points off) but still passed.

Was the examiner being lenient?

I don’t get these kinds of posts.

If you feel undeserving then go hand in your license

I felt undeserving when I got dinged for shifting my Dodge Aries into 2nd gear through an intersection ;)
Unfortunately, there are NO bonus points for driving a manual.

That's not what I meant by the post. What I was asking was if what I wrote makes sense (should technically be a fail?) and if the examiner was indeed being lenient, maybe because of the big backlog.

I don't understand why you want to be abrasive like this.

Entirely correct. I left the manual at home and drove the boring-mobile for the examiner.

Then I went home and carried on with rocking the clutch pedal.

May be there's a back log and he doesn't want you to come back. :D

Side question... should insurance company be in charge of handing out DLs?

??? You're not supposed to shift while going through an intersection?

There you go, you learned something new today 🤣🤣🤣

Both hands must be on the wheel when passing through intersections.

its same thing with motorcycles, your not suppose to shift going through intersection but if you have a 250cc/300cc bike than you better be shifting fast when you take off.

The whole no shifting through intersection is that you have all available option to you should something happen. e.g. Someone runs a red light, and you see in the corner of your eye, you can still accelerate out while in gear. Same idea as they expect you to downshift into 1st coming to a stop, so if anyone comes up behind you, you have available options for emergency maneuveur.

Most of us don't do this in day to day driving, but that's why they have it in the test.

Always been thaught you shouldn't shift in an intersection just in case you miss a shift.
